Wen Xin and Mu Chengxi walked into Old Madam Mu’s courtyard, and Wei Manqing, hearing the sound of the gate opening, ran out of her room. Seeing Wen Xin and Mu Chengxi return safely, she felt a sudden tingling in her nose and was overwhelmed with a desire to cry.

Mu Chengxi, holding Wen Xin’s hand, approached Wei Manqing just as Mu Jinyan was conveniently coming out of Old Madam’s room with Wei Manqing’s coat.

Wei Manqing pulled away from Mu Jinyan’s embrace and walked over to Wen Xin, examining her up and down as she held her hand, wanting to check if Wen Xin was injured.

Wen Xin was shocked by Wei Manqing’s use of “mom” and was unsure how to respond or how to address Wei Manqing.

Wei Manqing’s tone was gentle and tender; she truly loved Wen Xin as her own daughter.

Standing by, Mu Chengxi, seeing how Wei Manqing cared for Wen Xin, stepped forward and gently tugged on Wei Manqing’s arm, reminding her, “Mom, you’re scaring her.”

Upon hearing Mu Chengxi’s words, Wei Manqing realized she might have been too emotional and let go of Wen Xin, smiling gently at her.

“I’m sorry if I was too emotional. Did I scare you?”

“No.”

Wen Xin looked at Wei Manqing, who was being extremely careful, and smiled tenderly. She reached out and held Wei Manqing’s hand, speaking gently.

“You didn’t scare me. It’s just that I’ve never experienced a mother’s care before. I was just a bit bewildered. I am not hurt; everything is fine. You don’t have to worry.”

“That’s good, that’s good. Your arm hasn’t healed yet, and then this incident happened. How could I not be worried? Alright, let’s go inside. Your grandma is waiting for you.”

Mu Chengxi, noticing his mother’s awkwardness, flashed a gentle smile and stepped forward, wrapping his arm around Wen Xin as they walked towards Old Madam’s room.

As Mu Chengxi and Wen Xin entered the room, Old Madam Mu suddenly stood up from her chair, her tone anxious as she spoke to Wen Xin and Mu Chengxi, “Quick, quick, come in. Let me see if you’re hurt…”

Mu Chengxi let go of Wen Xin and gently pushed on her waist, urging her to go first.

Wen Xin knew that Mu Chengxi wanted to hide the injury on his hand. She stepped forward, held Old Madam Mu’s arm, and helped her sit down on the chair.

“These past few days have worried Grandma. We are all fine, nothing’s wrong!”

Wen Xin sat down beside Old Madam Mu, following her movements, and looked very well-behaved.

“Alright, you are the most considerate girl. Now that you are back safely, Grandma is relieved. I’ve asked the kitchen to prepare pig’s feet noodles for you. After eating, go rest well. We can talk more tomorrow!”

Old Madam Mu’s gaze was filled with affection when she looked at Wen Xin. She thought to herself that she must spoil Wen Xin, such an adorable girl, to the skies.

Standing aside, Mu Chengxi watched the interaction between Wen Xin and Old Madam Mu and felt inexplicably reassured, as if such a life is what he looked forward to in the future.

Early the next morning, before Wen Xin and Mu Chengxi were fully awake, they heard a noisy chattering outside. Mu Chengxi irritably covered his head with the blanket, at the same time pulling Wen Xin into his embrace.

Just at that moment, Wen Xin’s phone suddenly rang. Wen Xin gently nudged Mu Chengxi’s shoulder, signaling for him to let her go so she could answer the phone.

Still irritated, Mu Chengxi threw off the blanket and looked at Wen Xin, who was still patting his shoulder, somewhat reluctantly.

“I’m not even awake yet,” Mu Chengxi said in a hoarse, somewhat lazy tone, which sounded somewhat tempting to Wen Xin.

At this point, Wen Xin completely ignored the vibrating phone behind her. She held Mu Chengxi’s cheeks in her hands, slowly leaned in, and softly pressed her lips against his.

As their lips met, Mu Chengxi embraced Wen Xin tightly, and what happened next was beyond their control…

In the living room, Liang Luoyu looked at Mu Dong preparing breakfast and raised an eyebrow, “Master Xi has always had a regular schedule. When did he start indulging himself like this?”
