Chapter 46: Brief moments of peace

Marriage…! I thought so, but in this world, the age of adulthood is 16. Perhaps it’s not surprising, given my age. But, whether or not there is a man to marry, marrying and becoming a resident of this world means leaving my world entirely.

I don’t want to be killed. But I’m not so removed from my world that I can simply nod in agreement. It’s a world full of people I care about, including family and friends.

“I don’t know what to do.”

Goddess Kas’uan’s is currently on Earth. She’ll track me down once I’ve obtained the Shrine Maiden’s power. So, for the time being, I need to ask the Demon King if I can stay in this castle.

I went to the Demon King’s office and told him what God Galeios had said to me. I didn’t want to tell him about my “marriage,” so I kept it to myself.

“Well… I ended up getting you involved in world affairs once more. I’m sorry.”

“No, Your Majesty, there is nothing to apologize for.”

So, am I allowed to stay in this castle?

“I’m not going to kick you out—of course, I’ll protect you.”

the Demon King smiled.

“Thank you very much.”

“And watch what you dream about, Shrine Maiden; do you recall any strange dreams?”

I tell the Demon King that I had a dream in which I was pursued by a groaning woman.

“Perhaps it was Goddess Kas’uan’s. Do you still have the “matchmaker under the moon” I gave you earlier?”

“Yes.”

I nodded as he instructed me to keep it by my bedside when I went to bed.

“But, if Goddess Kas’uan’s is in another world, we can’t do anything about it… There must be a way to help you.”

Ugh. Maybe it’s best if I tell the Demon King about the “marriage” thing. But I don’t want to give up my original world.

I look down, a little guilty. the Demon King, on the other hand, has never pursued the question.

“..On a completely different topic, what does your Majesty think about marriage?”

the Demon King was supposed to marry for political reasons, though it was canceled.

“I’m still not sure what love is. But I think it would be nice to marry and have children “.

The one who will marry the Demon King is lucky because the Demon King is kind.

“What about you?”

“I hope to be able to do it someday.”

but not right now. I believe it is too soon. I’m sure it’ll cause problems for the Demon King and the others.

“I’m confident you’ll be fine—you’re very attractive.”

“…Thank you.”

the Demon King’s straightforward words make me blush. I believe the Demon King is a people-pleaser.

“Yes, a new flower has bloomed—would you like to go see it with me now?”

“Yes!”

Afterwards, I had a peaceful time with the Demon King and the flowers.
