Chapter 280: 140 Mistress Number Four
The soft tapping of rubber shoes against the metallic floor echoed through the left-wing corridor of the medium-sized transport ship.
Miss Hera, having just changed her clothes, scanned the windows that had been converted into “advertising projection screens” as she walked, continuously contemplating.
Two Mechanical Guards followed behind her, signifying surveillance and urging.
She suddenly discovered the key to the problem.
Yali wasn’t Yali, and the secret agent wasn’t a secret agent.
This man, dressed in gray-white armor who single-handedly defeated a group of insect creatures…
Powerful and mysterious.
The alloy doors opened to the sides with a slight noise, and Hera returned to the cabin where she had awoken.
The entire middle section of the cabin had been converted into a living room, dining room, and study, along with the bedroom she had just used, the personal living space had already exceeded two hundred square meters, and much of the furniture was brand new, obviously just arranged not long ago.
Yang Ming, arms crossed, stood in front of the only floor-to-ceiling window that offered a view of the outside.
Outside the window was an orange-red Constant Star.
“Have I been domesticated?” Hera asked softly.
Yang Ming turned his head to look at her.
Hera, dressed in a loose and comfortable nightgown, her freshly dried hair fluffy, her face without makeup looked less glamorous but more girlish.
“Not really domesticated,” Yang Ming said bluntly, “I’m actually hesitating about how to settle you, I only have two choices, either to kill you or to subdue you.”
“Subdue?”
Hera inquired calmly,
“Are you asking me to become your subordinate or your mistress? No wonder you said you’ve had few girlfriends but many mistresses.”
“Cough,” Yang Ming was somewhat unable to meet her pure eyes.
He certainly couldn’t falter at this moment.
Dealing with Hera’s type, if he hesitated, it would be too out of character.
Yang Ming said, “Both are possible. You don’t know the great expense I went through to save you. I have to recoup some costs.”
Hera looked at Yang Ming for a few seconds, her tone softening, “I’m very hungry.”
“Come sit over here, the robot butler will be serving food soon.”
A few minutes later.
The two sat at one end of the long dining table, eating a well-balanced meal of meat and vegetables, not rushing to start a conversation.
Hera was very hungry, continuously and quickly swallowing food in small bites, looking somewhat ungraceful.
By the time she was nearly finished eating, Yang Ming had already organized his thoughts.
A female-shaped butler robot raised its left hand, and a holographic projection appeared in its palm, displaying a series of videos and images.
This was the intelligence Hera had collected before.
Hera, her mouth stained with bright red sauce, chewed on something resembling noodles.
After swallowing it and wiping her mouth, she finally asked, “Didn’t you directly threaten them?”
Yang Ming shrugged, “My plan deviated a bit from the one we both devised. I originally intended to send this intelligence to the Sherman Empire to provoke Sherman and the New Federation into going to war directly.”
Hera furrowed her brow tightly and glared at Yang Ming, “Are you a multi-sided spy?”
“No, I’m an entrepreneur who is striving hard,” Yang Ming leaned back in his chair, speaking with a smile, “I don’t like either the Sherman Empire or the New Federation. If they go to war, I stand to gain a lot of benefits.”
“Provoking a war is humanity’s greatest original sin,” Hera said, “War brings about massive casualties among the innocent.”
“I’m just recounting what the New Federation has done to the Sherman Empire openly and honestly,” Yang Ming said indifferently, “The original sin lies with the New Federation.”
“Do you come from the Free Federation or the Guel Alliance?”
“I can’t reveal that for now,” Yang Ming said with a smile, “In our line of work, disclosing personal affiliations is the least professional behavior.”
“You really are still a spy,” Hera’s expression was clearly displeased.
“But I don’t have a boss behind me,” Yang Ming spread his hands, “I only serve myself.”
Hera’s mouth corners drooped, “That doesn’t sound cool at all.”
“Alright, let’s talk about your future, Miss Hera,” Yang Ming said, “You were rescued from the clutches of the Mother Worm and will now work for me. Any problems with that?”
“No problem, that’s reasonable,” Hera’s response sounded very relaxed, “Besides, I don’t have much choice.”
Yang Ming said, “I still can’t reveal too much to you…”
“I want to know three things.”
Hera attempted to seize the initiative in the negotiations:
“You can choose to answer me or avoid answering. I am your prisoner by nature, with no real room for bargaining.
“But if you could make me feel at ease, I suppose I could help you achieve some things.
“Besides being a sexual partner, I must have other values, which is why you saved me, right? Like serving as a translator for communicating with the Space Worm Clan… If you simply wanted another sexual partner, I’d recommend you custom-order a realistic robot, which can even have its personality tailored.”
Yang Ming also chuckled.
Was this a subtle refusal?
“Ask away.”
“The first thing, did you approach me just to get this intelligence?”
“Yes.”
“That’s terribly disappointing!”
Hera suddenly became agitated, her delicate yet imposing body trembling lightly, shouting with the utmost anger:
“I actually helped you plan the entire operation and even risked implementing the plans I developed! You effortlessly benefited, while I took all the risks! You even took five million New Federation Coins from me… That’s just too much!”
Yang Ming laughed, “Buying this transport ship and setting up this place cost me twenty-six million.”
