Chapter 32 Went to Fetch Grandmother

Mo He reappeared in the hall. He stood by the stairs and looked at the two coldly as he thundered, “Go back to your room, Xia Yan!”

Mo He’s sudden scream scared Xia Yan since she had her back toward him. She turned around and fiercely glared at Mo He. “Why are you so loud?!”

Mo He’s eyes were frigid as he stared at Xia Yan. “I told you to go back to your room!”

Xia Yan refuted, “Why should I listen to you! You just told me to leave!”

Hearing Xia Yan’s words, Mo He’s expression became even more unsightly. “Mo Pei, come with me to the study!”

Mo Pei hesitated, but he still waved his hand at Xia Yan. “I shall take my leave, Xia Yan. We’ll talk again soon.”

Mo he’s voice became colder. “What are you dawdling around for?!”

Mo Pei hastened his footsteps and followed Mo He to the study. As Mo Pei took a few steps forward, Mo He stopped in his tracks. He did not turn his head and said coldly, “Go back to your room!” Mo He had already left the hall without waiting for Xia Yan’s response.

Xia Yan stood alone in the hall, looking at the room upstairs. “I swear, every member of the Mo family is much weirder than the last. No wonder Xia Rou wanted nothing to do with them. I now know that Mo He isn’t physically disabled, but his mental state is.”

Although Mo He and Jiang Qiu never spoke of it, they knew what happened that day.

‘I have my reasons for staying in the Mo family,’ Xia Yan sighed and comforted herself before walking upstairs to her room.

Mo He did not look at Mo Pei. He just lowered his head and flipped through the documents on the table. “Grandmother will be back tomorrow. You need to pick her up.”

Mo Pei looked at Mo He aggrievedly. “You know that Grandmother will ask me ‘those’ questions when she sees me. Can’t you ask someone else to go?”

Mo He still didn’t look at Mo Pei as he replied briefly, “You’re her grandson!”

Mo Pei scolded and grumbled unhappily, “You speak as if you’re not her grandson.’

Mo He finally raised his head and looked at Mo Pei. “You’re not willing to pick Grandmother up?”

“No, I am not!” Mo Pei replied firmly. Even though Old Madam Mo doted on Mo Pei, she always urged him to get married. Especially since Mo He is already married. It was safer for Mo Pei to welcome his grandmother alongside everyone else.

Mo He raised his eyebrows and said, “Okay, fine. But you’re going to Hong Kong for a business trip tomorrow.”

“What? B-But…” Mo Pei was still unwilling and tried to refuse.

“Choose one! Either you pick Grandmother up or go to Hong Kong,” Mo He said without allowing Mo Pei to bargain.

Mo Pei gritted his teeth and asked, “How many days do I need to be in Hong Kong?”

“Two days. Then you have to come back and attend Grandmother’s banquet.” Mo He’s face was expressionless.

Mo Pei sighed, stood up, and walked to the door. “Okay, fine!”

“Where are you going?” Mo He saw that Mo Pei had already grabbed the door handle.

“You should go and pack your things. I’m not going on that business trip tomorrow.” Mo Pei rubbed his nose, pulled the door open, and walked out.

Mo He looked at the closing door as his gaze dropped downward. He saw Xia Yan’s documents and her terrifying scarred face.

Early the following day, Qiu Xin held Jiang Qiu’s hand and said fawningly, “Madam Mo, can I pick Grandmother up from the airport? Mo He can’t pick her up since he’s too busy.

Considering yesterday’s matter, Jiang Qiu was concerned about Qiu Xin. Jiang Qiu thought it would be better if she didn’t see Qiu Xin for the day since she wanted to pick Old Madam Mo up.

Jiang Qiu nodded and said, “Then you’ll have to behave before Old Madam Mo.”
