Because Sinian had previously promised Mr. Song to return to the Song Mansion for dinner, he did not go home after work but went straight to the mansion.

Sinian glanced at him, stood up, and said, “I have some matters to take care of, you and the butler play chess first.”

The corner of Mr. Song’s mouth twitched with disappointment as he watched Sinian stand up and walk farther and farther away.

Suddenly, a figure flashed by.

Sinian could not dodge in time and his coat got drenched with water.

He furrowed his brows, looked at his wet clothes, and then turned to Song Keren, who was running over in a fluster.

“I’m, I’m so sorry, Brother Sinian. It wasn’t on purpose. Shall I wash it for you?” Song Keren asked, attempting to help Sinian take off his coat.

But as she reached out, Sinian immediately pulled away.

He looked at Song Keren with disgust and said coldly, “No need.”

“No, I must!” Song Keren said as she grabbed ahold of the hem of Sinian’s clothes.

She had the look of someone who wouldn’t let go unless he gave in.

Sinian’s face turned immediately dark, “Let go, or you might regret keeping those hands.”

His icy voice carried a chilling high pressure that could crush anything in an instant.

Even if Song Keren wanted to persist, she couldn’t withstand such tremendous intimidation.

She reluctantly loosened her grip and bravely explained, “I just wanted to take responsibility for what I did. Brother Sinian, there’s no need for such anger.”

Song Keren spoke, her lips pursing in a grievous pout that threatened to break into tears at any moment.

Sinian’s expression remained unfazed, his voice detached, “If you know you made a mistake, you should at least apologize first. And another thing… I am the only child in the family; I do not have a sister.”

She heard from others that Lu Zhaozhao had captivated him by being teary-eyed during their first meeting.

Sinian’s brows furrowed instantly, “You’re very noisy.”

Song Keren was clearly startled by Sinian’s blunt words.

Shouldn’t he be more compassionate and chivalrous?

Sinian glanced at Song Keren with revulsion, his voice even colder than before, “Whether you change your surname or not is your business; whether I have a sister or not is mine–there’s no conflict. Also, from now on, address me as President Song.”

Song Sinian glanced at her, gave a nonchalant “Mhmm,” and then walked straight out of the living room.

Only Song Keren was left standing awkwardly in place, uncertain whether to leave or stay.

Mr. Song sighed softly, “That’s just the way Sinian is, don’t bother him if it’s nothing important.”

“I understand,” Song Keren’s eyelids drooped slightly as she nodded at Mr. Song and then left the living room in dejection.

She had deliberately bumped into Song Sinian with the water earlier, but it wasn’t just for that single purpose.

She had been closely following the matter between Song Sinian and Lu Zhaozhao since she returned from abroad, and had also inquired about their affairs from the household staff.

Although she didn’t know how Lu Zhaozhao had managed to charm Old Master Song, she was crystal clear about how Lu Zhaozhao had seduced Song Sinian.

Now, if she could just get Lu Zhaozhao driven out of the Song Family, and then use the same tactics, perhaps she could even take Mrs. Song’s place.
