Chapter 548: Shooting Blindly
Chu He quickly stepped forward, blocking in front of Chen Yu.

“Mr. Ma, isn’t this a bit too much? I have already verified it, and Mr. Chen is indeed the Sect Leader of the Xuanqing Sect, there is no doubt about it.”

Ma Chengfei didn’t care about that, taking out a dagger from his person and aiming it at Chen Yu.

“This kid appeared in the Core Tower for no reason, he must have ulterior motives! Seize him immediately, or our Sand Hollow will be destroyed by him.”

Frustrated, Chu He always felt that Ma Chengfei acted arrogantly because of his status in the Core Tower, and now he was being unreasonable in front of Chen Yu.

This could likely cause conflict between Sand Hollow and the Sect.

Chu He sighed deeply, had someone carry Ma Chengfei away, and then sat down in an empty spot with Chen Yu.

“This is a ticket to the bottom three floors of the Core Tower. With this, you can move freely within them! As for the other floors, I’ll discuss it with the elders in the tower.”

Chen Yu didn’t say much, as he had already roughly scanned the layout of the place with his system, and by just visiting the bottom three floors, he could virtually reconstruct everything inside the tower in his mind.

After eating something simple, Chen Yu took Jin Lingsu and others to the very bottom layer of the Core Tower.

This level had very few people, just several relatively young individuals with innate superpowers sitting at the workbenches, examining some antique jade wares.

This place looked like a giant collection center, filled with various treasures, dazzling to the eye, akin to a world-class museum.

The moment he entered, Chen Yu was stunned by everything here; just the two vases placed at the entrance were imperial tributes from the Qianlong era.

“Who’s there?”

A girl looking to be in her twenties suddenly jumped out, blocking Chen Yu’s path.

“This is a restricted area of the Core Tower; outsiders are not allowed in without permission. Leave immediately, or don’t blame me for being rude.”

Her candy-fierce demeanor made Chen Yu find it somewhat amusing; he directly took out the metal card Chu He gave him.

Upon seeing the card, the girl immediately became respectful and let Chen Yu in.

Jin Lingsu rushed to a display case, her face full of excitement.

“Wow, all the treasures here have been lost for years, if they were all taken out, they’d be worth at least several billion!”

Upon hearing this, the girl quickly ran over.

The little girl did not answer but continued to stare down Jin Lingsu, looking fierce yet adorable.

Chen Yu shook his head helplessly and took a few steps deeper into the room, when he suddenly discovered something resembling a marble placed in a corner.

The patterns on it seemed to be from the Tang Dynasty’s Tianbao era, but woven between these patterns were some text in the style of the early Southern Song Dynasty.

Chen Yu immediately became interested and crouched down to take a closer look.

“Sir, do you like this item?”

The little girl, who just a moment ago had been confronting Jin Lingsu, hurried over to Chen Yu’s side.

It looked as though she was worried that Chen Yu might steal something here.

“I just find it odd. The age of the item shouldn’t be a problem, but the patterns span over several dynasties.”

The little girl also nodded.

“This item has been here for many years, and we’ve conducted a lot of related research. However, we just can’t determine its real age or purpose.”

Chen Yu frowned slightly and immediately began scanning it with the system.

But because there were no clear inscriptions and no records in the historical documents, they couldn’t identify the specific user.

Yet Chen Yu, after just one glance, was able to determine its age and even link it to An Lushan, which was indeed surprising.

“Sir, are you sure?”

Chen Yu gently stroked the inscription.

“This must be carved by Zhao Gou, the founding Emperor of the Southern Song Dynasty, using what later generations called ‘riddle script’ tadpole text! No one in this world can understand this writing anymore, so it’s normal that you spent so much time without deciphering it.”

The little girl became excited and took out her special camera to snap photos of the inscriptions on the outside of the altar.
