Chapter 168: Chapter 168 My Luck Has Always Been Good
Hang Qin, seeing no one speaking, continued to break the silence, “How about you give me some face?”
“Fuck, gambling with Black Spade Q? Who doesn’t know he’s a gambling god?”
“Second Young Master Hang is quite the devil, eh? Deliberately messing with ‘Yin Man,’ interesting.”
“Yeah, why didn’t I think of that? This way, Yin Man will have to take off the mask, right? Hurry, hurry, start!”
Whispers started to spread among the surrounding crowd, growing more and more excited, as if they were already seeing the face beneath the Silver Fox mask.
Ji Tian slightly furrowed her brows, her lips pursed with slight displeasure. Where had this roadblock dog come from, obstructing her path to wealth? Anyone standing in her way was dead!
But this Black Spade Q was even more arrogant than she had imagined. His lips carried a trace of mocking smirk, “Who are you? I’m supposed to give you face?”
His infuriating tone turned Hang Qin’s face iron blue. He hailed from an ancient family of the Central Continent; who dared to speak to him like that! But the other party was Black Spade Q, and he knew he couldn’t outsmart him intellectually. Not wanting to embarrass himself, he casually replied with a smile, “So, you’re not willing then?”
Ji Tian inwardly hoped he would leave quickly. She wanted to pocket that ten million. Given the chance with such a big sucker, how could she let it go?
Someone brought him a leather chair. Lounging back lazily with his long legs crossed, he exuded peak arrogance. With his long, beautiful fingers, he tapped on the card table, “Fifty million. If you can’t afford to play, get lost.”
Ji Tian: “!!!!!”
She cursed too soon; this wasn’t some roadblock dog, this was her God of Wealth!
Hang Qin: “…”
Everyone: “…”
Were these two here to wreak havoc? The last phrases they uttered were exactly the same, making it hard not to suspect that they might secretly be in cahoots, deliberately provoking the Hang Family’s Second Young Master.
“If you don’t have that much money, don’t pretend to be rich. Why not let Hang Mingli play?”
Hang Mingli, Hang Qin’s older brother, was the designated heir of the Hang Family. He despised his own brother because everyone focused only on the legitimate heir, ignoring him.
And Black Spade Q knew exactly how to provoke him. Slapping the table, Hang Qin’s eyes turned bloodshot as he got carried away, “It’s just fifty million, my Hang Family doesn’t even consider it a big deal. What if Q loses?”
Black Spade Q considered for a moment and replied with a touch of sarcasm, “I can’t lose. But if I did, you would get a slot in the High IQ Alliance. Want it?”
“Whoa!”
“A slot in the High IQ Alliance? Fuck, if we really get in, we’d be dealing with elites from all around the globe. Wouldn’t that mean I have seven big-shot brothers?”
“That’s better than fifty million, right? Damn it, he’s Black Spade Q; how can he lose? Forget about it; he never intended to invite anyone.”
Hang Qin breathed more heavily, “You serious?”
Black Spade Q gave him a look as if he was looking at an idiot. Hang Qin felt a bit embarrassed; his respected status in the Central Continent meant nothing in front of these international big shots, unless it was the Hang Family’s head himself. He felt an instant pang of discomfort.
Black Spade Q turned to look at “Yin Man,” who was a few steps away and seemingly lost in thought, with a hoarse voice, “Yin Man… Madam, care to play a round?”
Ji Tian’s eyes twitched at the corner, still unable to get used to the title “Madam” for a seventeen-year-old girl in her prime. She nodded gently, her voice equally hoarse, “I’d be delighted.”
Ji Tian took her seat; this was a gamble of fifty million, and a crowd had gathered all around.
There were just the three of them at the card table, along with a gorgeous Croupier dealing the cards.
They were playing Blackjack.
Aside from the Jokers, all cards from 1 to 13, the sum of the cards in hand should be twenty-one points or lower to win. Going over was a bust.
The game was simple, win or lose in an instant.
At the start of the game, each player had two cards, and based on those, they would decide whether to take a third.
Lin Shihuan was on tenterhooks in the crowd, anxious that if Ji Tian lost, her mask would be removed, and she’d be exposed, which would do her no good. So he made his way towards her side, wanting to urge her to take it easy; if things went south, he’d have to spend money to settle the matter.
“Boss Lin, what are you doing up there?” someone with sharp eyes grabbed his arm.
Lin Shihuan shook it off, “Miss Yin Man is with me; I’m responsible.”
Qu Rong, who was watching the show from below, suddenly tensed up at the words “responsible.”
His gaze roamed over, suddenly wanting a piece of the action, he promptly pulled Lin Shihuan to his side.
Lin Shihuan: “…”
Qu Rong asked directly, “Buddy, how do you intend to take responsibility?”
His eyes shone with expectation, waiting for Lin Shihuan’s answer.
Lin Shihuan tugged at his hand, realizing this man was holding on tightly, and getting irritated, “Who the hell are you to come and hug me!”
Qu Rong, with shameless audacity, “You don’t need to worry about who I am. Just tell me how you’ll take responsibility?”
Lin Shihuan: “…”
Damn it, how could one encounter such Troubles? First, Ji Tian, who wouldn’t listen, and now a lunatic clinging to him.
“How else would I be responsible? Just manage her properly! Let go of me; you’re holding up my business.”
Qu Rong obediently let go, and Lin Shihuan headed straight for Ji Tian.
Manage her?
Could he manage someone he knew for just a day?
His head was throbbing with pain, and he noticed the girl had no such intentions; her expression was more like she’d been chewed up by a dog.
Qu Rong took a deep breath and decided to search for her after getting off the boat.
Looking back at the gambling table, Ji Tian had already received two cards, a King and a Seven, adding up to twenty points, which was already high. One more could easily blow past twenty-one.
Hang Qin, looking up and scanning across their masks with confidence, gestured, “Another card, please.”
After seeing three cards, he laid them on the table, asking, “Do the two of you want another card?”
Black Spade Q nodded, “Another, please.”
Lin Shihuan caught a glimpse of Ji Tian’s hand, gasped in shock, and whispered in her ear, “That’s enough; it’s close. Any more and you’ll bust.”
Now, all eyes were on Ji Tian. Hang Qin could almost guess her hand by looking at Lin Shihuan’s expression.
With a confident smile, he taunted, “Miss Yin Man, another card for you?”
Ji Tian tapped the table lightly, her gaze shifting to Lin Shihuan with a smile, “I’m usually quite lucky.” She then looked at the Croupier, “Another card, please.”
“!!!!!!”
Great ancestors, have you gone insane?
Ji Tian didn’t reveal her last card, instead addressing them, “We can show our hands now, the auction is in ten minutes.”
Hang Qin propped his chin with one hand, cheerfully flipping over his cards, “Sorry, a perfect 21 points.”
He had a Jack, a Six, and a Four in front of him, making exactly 21 points.
Black Spade Q spread his cards on the table revealing a King, a Seven, and an Ace.
Leaning forward with crossed fingers resting on the tabletop, his tone casual and indifferent, “Sorry, I also have 21 points.”
He drew out one of the Kings, “The highest 21 points.”
