Chapter 876: Chapter 875 Are You F***ing Kidding Me?
“I’ve been trapped here for eight hundred and thirty thousand years, eight hundred and thirty thousand years!”
Huanglin roared hoarsely, “Liu Tianyuan, I swear, I swear, okay? I swear, I’ll only swallow this pill and refine this remnant soul. Once I succeed, I absolutely won’t lay a finger on you!”
“Swear? What the hell is a swear worth?”
Liu Tianyuan chuckled mockingly, “Since neither of us can leave, why not just keep each other company here? What’s the point of going out? Why not quietly play chess here instead? How about it?”
“Play chess my ass!”
Though Huanglin lacked a physical body, he still gritted his teeth and growled, “You miserable dog, you’re stuck here but you refuse to let me leave? You’re nothing but a remnant soul from an avatar, while I’m the real deal!!! How could you even compare? Your original self is still in the Holy Domain. If your avatar dies, so be it. But if I die in here, I truly die for good!”
“That won’t do either!” Liu Tianyuan snorted coldly.
Listening to their exchange, Su Han couldn’t help but display a wry smile.
This elder brother-in-law of his clearly hasn’t changed a bit.
But he felt a hint of relief knowing that the fiery figure was merely Liu Tianyuan’s avatar and not his actual body. With that being the case, Su Han wasn’t particularly worried about him.
“If you want to go out, there’s a way.”
Liu Tianyuan went silent for a moment before suddenly saying, “Give me the pill, let me swallow it, then I’ll refine the remnant soul inside your body. After that, I’ll refine you entirely, and I’ll take you out to have a look. How’s that sound?”
“Why don’t you go to hell!!!” Huanglin exclaimed furiously.
“Then forget about it. Since you’re not agreeable, just pretend I didn’t say anything. But don’t even think about leaving; there’s no way.” Liu Tianyuan shrugged, looking utterly shameless.
Truth be told, his character really bore some resemblance to Su Han’s in his past life.
Back then Su Han, too, was unrestrained and carefree, doing things however he pleased.
In reality, Su Han still carried that personality in this life, but having lived another lifetime, many things had quietly begun to change. They have shackled him in a way he couldn’t escape. He could no longer be as uninhibited as he had once been.
“Eight hundred and thirty thousand years… no matter how patient I am, I’ve had enough of this godforsaken place!”
Suddenly, Huanglin’s demeanor shifted. He grew cold and emotionless, no longer the frenzied and wrathful figure he was before.
“What are you trying to do?” Liu Tianyuan frowned and asked.
“Die Together!”
Huanglin burst into maniacal laughter as his black mist-like figure shattered and rushed straight toward Liu Tianyuan.
“Huanglin, you’re insane!”
Seeing this, Liu Tianyuan shouted in fury, his fiery silhouette retreating rapidly.
But at that very moment, Liu Tianyuan’s movement faltered. His eyes locked onto Su Han’s remnant soul that emerged in the void after Huanglin’s black mist dispersed.
He was staring at Su Han, and Su Han was staring right back at him.
As he caught sight of the flickering light in Liu Tianyuan’s eyes, Su Han’s lips twitched violently, and he couldn’t help but mutter, “Elder Brother-in-law, don’t mess around…”
With these words, Liu Tianyuan’s figure instantly froze.
He had intended to dodge Huanglin’s mad attack, but somehow the moment Su Han spoke, it seemed to anchor him in place–immobilized, incapable of any action.
Huanglin didn’t understand why this was happening, but he recognized an extraordinary opportunity. His black mist let out a booming impact as it collided with Liu Tianyuan’s fiery figure.
“Boom!”
Under this collision, that fiery silhouette immediately crumbled and scattered.
“Hahaha…”
Huanglin’s laughter reverberated madly. “Liu Tianyuan, Liu Tianyuan, wise for a lifetime, foolish for a moment! Let me tell you, that remnant soul I acquired–though I don’t know why it’s so strong–had already dissipated completely, yet it managed to persist long enough for me to re-condense it. But you dreaming of obtaining it? That’s utterly impossible!”
“Your figure is already on its last leg. So I’ll finish swallowing you first, then proceed to refine this remnant soul; one step at a time!”
Having spoken, the black mist swept across like a tidal wave, surging toward Liu Tianyuan once more.
This time, Liu Tianyuan appeared oblivious to all of it.
His gaze remained fixed on Su Han, even as the black mist pounded into him relentlessly. Although his form grew weaker with each moment, he acted as though he couldn’t feel the damage.
“Elder Brother-in-law, you’re about to die!”
Seeing Liu Tianyuan still dawdling, Su Han grew visibly anxious.
He could see the truth–both Liu Tianyuan and Huanglin were essentially remnant souls, just like himself.
However, the cultivation base of Liu Tianyuan and Huanglin was overwhelming. Even as remnant souls, they were miles ahead of Su Han in strength.
If Su Han still had his cultivation base from his previous life, he would be able to suppress the two of them effortlessly even as a remnant soul. But now, in this life, his cultivation was merely at the Dragon God Realm, making him as insignificant as an ant before their mighty remnant souls.
When remnant souls clash, there wouldn’t be any earth-shattering spectacle, but each impact is a fatal strike.
Such attacks directly target the soul. Given that all parties involved were already remnant souls, defeat would mean true form obliteration–complete annihilation.
Thus, seeing Liu Tianyuan standing motionless, Su Han felt desperate.
His shout finally brought Liu Tianyuan back to his senses.
Liu Tianyuan stared at Su Han and, after a long moment, uttered with difficulty, “What did you just call me?”
“Elder Brother-in-law…”
Su Han responded, his tone no longer playful or careless, but laden with a sense of nostalgia, melancholy, and resignation over the passage of time.
Millions of years… Even for beings of their caliber, it was an unfathomably long time–virtually a lifetime.
“Elder Brother-in-law…”
Liu Tianyuan murmured the words, his figure trembling visibly.
He knew, of course, that throughout the entire galaxy, throughout the Milky Way Universe, there was only one person who would ever call him that–Su Han!
But Su Han… hadn’t he already perished?
Su Han couldn’t believe that Liu Tianyuan was standing before him now, and likewise, Liu Tianyuan couldn’t believe that the person before him was truly Su Han!
Throughout the Holy Domain and the galaxy, everyone knew that the Ancient Demon Dragon Emperor had succumbed to Qi Deviation during cultivation, completely obliterated in both body and soul.
The Holy Domain descended into chaos; even the Three Great Star Domains were engulfed in war. The Sovereign of Yuan Ling rose to power, becoming the new Sovereign of the Holy Domain. The loyal Purple Gold Army, Purple Silver Army, and Purple Jade Army all turned traitor. The Ancient Emperor of Holy Demons was slain, and the Sun Sword God vanished…
All of it pointed to one undeniable truth: Su Han was truly dead. The Ancient Demon Dragon Emperor had truly fallen!
It was a catastrophic event, shaking the entire world. As time passed and the Yuan Ling Sovereign slowly brought the Holy Domain under control, even uniting the Three Great Star Domains, Liu Tianyuan and the others were forced to accept the bitter and heart-wrenching reality–Su Han was gone. The Ancient Demon Dragon Emperor was truly gone.
And yet now, the man who once affectionately called him Elder Brother-in-law… had reappeared?
After a long silence, Liu Tianyuan spat out a few words, like knives cut from his teeth.
“Are you fucking kidding me?”
