Chapter 526: Chapter 333: Sunken Ship Exploration (Part One)
As time gradually slipped away, the Seven-band Grouper’s struggles became feebler and feebler. Although it was still a good while away from death, its strength had nearly been exhausted due to the constant struggling.
Upon seeing this, Chu Mingcheng gently released the spear and, after ensuring it truly lacked the energy to struggle, took out a safety rope and tied it around the fish’s tail.
After securing the knot, he then pulled the spear out and grasped the safety rope, dragging the again thrashing Seven-band Grouper due to the pain.
But its tail was tied up, and no matter how much it thrashed, it couldn’t overcome Chu Mingcheng’s strength, and it was gradually pulled towards the surface.
Keeping such a fish by his side was clearly inconvenient, so he preferred to take the trouble of sending the fish up to the boat and putting it into the cold storage.
The Grouper didn’t need to be butchered, so after Chu Mingcheng placed it into the cold storage, he immediately returned.
Upon returning to the sunken yacht, he circled around the exterior and, finding no more giant fish, he then swam up to the very top of the sunken ship.
This sunken ship was not overturned but was standing upright.
Chu Mingcheng hadn’t seen clearly before and thought there were only three decks above the yacht’s main deck.
It was only when he came to the front that he realized there were actually five floors.
He was now at the highest point and planned to explore from the top down, just like before.
If he wasn’t mistaken, the top level should be the luxury sea view rooms, reserved for wealthy individuals, where he might find some valuable items.
Chu Mingcheng glanced at the intact glass windows, then slowly swam over to the adjacent corridor.
The room doors should be on the inside, coming up from the lower levels.
Fortunately, there were balconies and outdoor lounging areas where one could directly enter.
The balconies could also be climbed from the side to reach the rooftop for helicopter rescue, so the balcony’s glass doors were currently open.
Approaching the glass doors, Chu Mingcheng raised his flashlight and shone it inside to scope out the situation before advancing.
Fish illuminated by the flashlight became alert and swiftly fled, while the room’s interior was naturally very luxurious.
Various European-style furnishings, due to the ship sinking, were all chaotically piled on the side toward the stern, which evidently sank first.
All sorts of decorations and vases had fallen onto the floor, most of them shattered; however, a few remained intact.
Chu Mingcheng’s eyes brightened, seeing a piece of porcelain that might be very valuable.
He wasn’t sure if this room belonged to the ship’s owner or if it was a normal rental.
If it belonged to the ship’s owner, then some of the furnishings and decorations should be given extra attention.
Confirmed that there was no danger, Chu Mingcheng slowly swam further inside.
The room was spacious, with a bed overturned to the side, and after entering, he first picked up the vase he had seen.
The moment he picked up the vase, a Big Head Cod of only about ten centimeters in length suddenly darted out from inside, startling him.
Chu Mingcheng frowned, realizing he had been a bit careless.
Luckily it was only a Big Head Cod; if it had been some highly aggressive venomous creature, he would have been in danger just now.
Reflecting on himself, he then scrutinized the vase carefully.
The vase had become dirty, with coral growing in some spots on its surface.
But the appearance was still quite attractive, likely a blue and white porcelain, and it was uncertain whether it was modern or antique.
Chu Mingcheng first took the object out to the balcony to package up later when he returned.
Afterward, he began to search the room for other items that might be valuable.
The furniture was long since waterlogged, and Chu Mingcheng used the spear to sort through the piled-up items, but unfortunately, he found nothing.
Finally, he swam over to the bed, which stood on its side, with one side against the wall.
One bedside table was below the bed; the other, he guessed, was pressed underneath.
Chu Mingcheng lifted the spear and stabbed into the bedside table, making quite a noise.
Of course, this commotion was deliberate. As a result, several fish panicked and swam out.
Chu Mingcheng didn’t care about those fish; he used the spear to bring the bedside table back.
Upon opening the cabinet, he found nothing inside.
So, he swam towards the bed, grabbed the edge, and slowly flipped it back over.
Instantly, a few more fish shot out.
At this depth, there are almost no creatures that are poisonous, highly aggressive, and move quickly.
Chu Mingcheng was cautious but not overly tense.
As the bed was turned over, he saw the slightly damaged bedside table inside.
He opened this bedside table to find some rotting paper money and some blank papers, apparently documents, but not a single valuable item.
‘Damn it.’
Chu Mingcheng heaved a sigh, guessing that the person fleeing at the time had probably taken all the valuable things with them.
Indeed, he had assumed too much; the top level was the easiest to escape from, and the ship didn’t sink so rapidly, allowing the individual plenty of time to pack their belongings.
Considering this, the vase probably wasn’t a valuable item either.
Having explored one room thoroughly, Chu Mingcheng found nothing but a bottle of champagne with a leaky seal.
He didn’t bother with the champagne and continued to the next room.
There wasn’t just one suite of sea view rooms at the top; there were four in total.
After exploring all of them, Chu Mingcheng found nothing, which left him quite speechless.
At this point, he felt a bit disappointed; if he couldn’t find many valuable items in such a yacht, then he might as well continue to focus on ancient shipwrecks in the future.
Of course, modern cargo ships were still something to look forward to.
Having found nothing noteworthy on the top floor, Chu Mingcheng could only follow the staircase and swim downwards.
