Chapter 803: Chapter 150: The Dwarf’s Feast
“Swoosh–”
Accompanied by a slight noise, the space gradually distorted, and the Portal suddenly opened. A large and a small Gold Dragon came out one after another, with Aurora assisting the grievously injured Titus, appearing inside the Dwarf Palace.
The Dwarves were seated on both sides of a long table, filled with a feast of delicacies, rare treats from the mountains and the sea, as well as the strong liquor that the Dwarves loved most, wafting a rich fragrance.
The palace of Aivendel was a wonder created by the hands of the first King of High Mountains thousands of years ago. It was exceptionally spacious for the Dwarves but somewhat narrow for a thirty-meter-long Ancient Gold Dragon.
“It’s the Dawn Wings!”
“Lord Titus, Lady Aurora, you are finally here!”
“Good day, Lord Titus, I am so happy to see you, I’ve been looking forward to this day for a long time…”
Upon seeing the arrival of the Gold Dragons, the Dwarf generals and officials hurriedly stood up and warmly greeted them, almost surrounding the two Gold Dragons, and the hall instantly became noisy.
Although they were not familiar with the etiquette, and their saluting actions were coarse and uneven, their rugged faces covered with thick beards still showed sincere admiration and gratitude.
The Dwarves have always been hearty and stubborn with clear loves and hates, and they rarely conceal their thoughts, often wearing their hearts on their sleeves.
For the Dwarves, the “Dragon of Dawn” Titus was their great benefactor. He stepped forward at the critical moment when the Orc army pressed on the city. He resisted the overwhelming assaults several times and even killed the Great Chief of the Orc tribe.
For this reason, the singing and dancing Dwarves created many popular songs such as “Golden Wings,” “Dragon of Dawn,” “Flames on Black Stone Mountain,” and celebrated around the bonfire, singing loudly after drinking.
In such a lively atmosphere, even young Dwarf children would hum a line or two of songs like “he swings his claw to flatten the Orcs,” “he breathes fire to burn the armies to ashes” while playing.
“Good day, Lord Titus, Lady Aurora, my uncouth subjects have truly embarrassed you,” a familiar voice came from afar.
Titus nodded slightly in response: “Good day, Lord Ed, it has been a long while.”
The surrounding Dwarves cleared a path, and the Dwarf King Ed walked down from the throne with steady steps, looking lively, a stark contrast to his gravely injured appearance from a few days ago.
Looking at the scarred body of the Ancient Gold Dragon, the Dwarf King asked with concern, “Lord Titus, I’ve heard of your brave resistance against the Ashen Empire’s Emperor. How are your injuries–”
Titus shook his head and spoke softly, “It’s nothing serious, just some flesh wounds.” He scrutinized the Dwarf King, a hint of surprise in his eyes, “But your body, how did it become like this…”
Through the continuous True Vision Technique, he could see that although the Dwarf King looked energetic, a world away from his previous dying state, the Molten Furnace Fire symbolizing the life of the Dwarf was fading and dim.
“Hahaha!” Ed laughed heartily, thumping his chest with pride, “This is the blessing of our ancestors, the greatest virtue of us Dwarves is our tenacious vitality, tough and unyielding!”
Titus fell silent for a moment, not exposing the truth, but he had already guessed the other’s intentions. The surrounding Dwarf generals and ministers crowded together, shoulder to shoulder, laughing loudly, their mood extremely high.
“Ha-ha, that’s a Dwarf!”
“Yes, we were worried before, but who would have thought that Lord Ed would recover in a few days, and even become stronger than before!”
“Lord Ed once told us, he would sit on this throne for at least two hundred years! To make the High Mountain Kingdom great again!”
Sporting a smile on his rugged face, Ed stroked his beard and extended his hand: “Lord Titus, please take your seat. The main reason for inviting you to this banquet is to celebrate our victory in the war.
Three days ago, our Cavalry found out that the Beastman Army had completely withdrawn to the north of Fulei Mountain. Gush’s schemes have been thoroughly crushed!”
At this, the Dwarf King’s tone became exhilarated, and the surrounding Dwarves cheered in unison, the atmosphere fiery.
“Long live the High Mountain Kingdom!”
A Dwarf raised his cup and shouted, his cheeks unusually flushed, body swaying, his steps unstable, apparently having sneaked a little too much strong liquor, becoming tipsy.
“My allies, indeed, this is a matter worth celebrating.” Titus nodded indifferently, taking his seat on a large one specially prepared for him, with Aurora sitting next to him.
“Long live the High Mountain Kingdom! Long live Lord Ed! The Shield Dwarves will never yield!”
“Cheers!”
“Hahaha, to victory!”
The Dwarves cheered in a disorderly fashion, the hall filled with passionate shouts and the crisp sound of clinking cups.
Looking around, Titus asked with some curiosity, “If this is a victory celebration banquet, why have our Elf allies not come?”
Ed replied, “After the Orcs retreated northward, Lady Rhea led her troops back to Serinia in haste, probably summoned by Her Majesty the Queen.”
The Gold Dragon nodded, not probing further, yet internally he contemplated–after the shift in the trajectory of destiny, the timing of the coup in Serinia would likely be advanced significantly.
