Chapter 1186: Curiosity number 1185
“Thank you,” Zhuanzhuan stood up, smiling, “It’s my honor to help you. But I have to go to school tomorrow, so I’ll head back first.”
“Sure!” Leng Peixi wasn’t angry, even going so far as to instruct Leng Tianqi to listen to Jiang Zhuanzhuan when there was nothing of importance. He escorted them to the door. Leng Tianqi had been to the half-mountain villa so many times and this was the first time Leng Peixi had treated her with such respect.
It was simply unbelievable.
Once they left the villa, Leng Tianqi still felt like she was dreaming, incredulously asking, “Jiang Zhuanzhuan, how did you do that?”
Zhuanzhuan dropped her smile, a hint of sarcasm in her eyebrows, “We are the same kind of people, destined to understand each other the best.” After she spoke, she no longer paid attention to Leng Tianqi and got into the car arranged by Leng Peixi first.
When the car started, she rolled down the window and said to Leng Tianqi, who was standing by the road, “Remember to come with me to Dark Street tomorrow.” She had decided to keep Leng Tianqi’s little life for the time being. Even though Leng Tianqi was foolish, she was more pleasing to her than the self-righteous Leng Ran.
Upon hearing she could go to Dark Street, Leng Tianqi almost jumped with excitement, “Good!” It was great; she was finally not the dispensable trash in the Leng Family that could be discarded at any time.
Just the thought of Leng Ran kneeling on the ground made her feel elated.

In Leng Ran’s room, only a tungsten filament lamp was flickering, its dim light further emphasizing her disheveled state. The young maiden, her figure slender, had taken off her coarse overcoat to reveal a white vest underneath.
Her bare arms were covered in bruises of blue and purple.
Feng Sha knocked and entered the room, seeing the sight in front of him. But these wounds were as good as non-existent to him; he didn’t even blink.
“Who let you in? Get out!” Leng Ran saw Feng Sha come in and sharply scolded him in annoyance.
Feng Sha let out a cold laugh and walked out without saying a word.
In a moment of desperation, Leng Ran urgently called out, “Wait!”
“You see, you’re no longer the Leng Family heiress you once were.” Feng Sha, with his arms crossed, leaned against the door, and sarcastically said, “Haven’t you realized the reality yet?”
Leng Ran bit her lip in humiliation, nearly letting tears fall.
She had never treated Feng Sha well in the past, and now she couldn’t afford to. Moreover, she had to coax him, to fawn over him, to align with him.
“I’m sorry! I was too impulsive just now, I didn’t control my temper.”
“At least you’re not beyond hope,” Feng Sha said ambiguously, casually tossing something at her.
Leng Ran caught it and discovered it was a medicinal liquor for treating bruises. She was startled for a moment but quickly composed herself.
“Thank you!”
“Don’t mention it, we know each other, after all; we have to collaborate,” Feng Sha said with a slight curvature of his lips. “I guess you have some questions you’d like to ask me?”
“I want to know what’s the deal with Jiang Zhuanzhuan? Please tell me; consider it a favor owed to you, one I’ll definitely repay.”
Feng Sha had been waiting for these words, he spoke directly, “Jiang Zhuanzhuan came knocking this evening. At first, she was almost chased away, but then she had someone convey a message which led to your aunt seeing her.”
“What message?”
“Just three words, ‘Yuan Xueshan’.”
“Is that Huo Beijiang’s mom?” Leng Ran was shocked, “What does it have to do with her?”
“At first, I didn’t know either, but then I had people look into it. Yuan Xueshan was killed by the young lady and A Rong together; I guess Jiang Zhuanzhuan must know something.”
Leng Ran felt a chill run through her body; she couldn’t bring herself to associate Jiang Zhuanzhuan with Jiang Nanfei.
These two people, whether in their personalities or attitudes, were entirely different.
“Then how did she earn my aunt’s trust?” Leng Ran was really curious about this.
