Chapter 51: The Evil Child

“Is that you talking?” Zhou Kai inquired.

“Yes. Big Brother, it’s me. Save me. I’m so pitiful.” The child pleaded in joy.

Zhou Kai took out the box, ripped the talisman, and undid the red string. He was about to open the box, when the child said in horror, “Big Brother, don’t open it.”

Zhou Kai laughed. “You want me to save you, but you don’t want me to open it. How am I going to save you without opening it?”

“Big Brother, take me away. Find a dark room and let me out,” the child added.

Zhou Kai replied seriously, “That won’t do. I don’t have any merits except for being upright. I’d never do anything sneaky. If you want me to save you, I’ll do it here.”

As Zhou Kai said that, he got ready to open the box.

“Don’t do it, Big Brother. I’m a small spirit who has been plotted against and ordered about. I’ve suffered endless hardships and I can’t reincarnate. I’m very pitiful. Can you bear to let me melt under the sunlight and allow my soul to disperse?” The child cried and begged.

Zhou Kai replied, “I can bear to do that.”

The child said with a whimper, “Big Brother, you’re a really nice person. Take me away now. I’m scared.”
