Xia Siyu was surprised when she looked at the time. It was already six o’clock. Bo Yan had finished filming at four in the afternoon, and his crew had mostly dispersed when her shooting had started at five. The tourists had also left then, so he should not be there.

But the voice, which had a slightly magnetic and low nature, indeed belonged to him.

Xia Siyu’s brows furrowed as she hesitated for a few seconds. In the end, she decided to follow the sound of the voice.

They were at the Film Studio, with specific workers to decorate or set up the place. There was a river that flowed down from the mountain and passed by Film Studio. The side of the river had weeping willows and the Taihu Rock.

Xia Siyu had only taken two steps beside the river when she spotted a man busy on his phone and leaning on a tree not far away. He was dressed in a black leisure outfit and a black pair of shoes. This intensified his vibe of coolness and depth. He looked less serious than usual.

It was indeed Bo Yan.

Since she was some distance away, she could not hear the specifics of the conversation. She could hear occasional laughter as if he were laughing at something. Yet, the smile did not reach his eyes. They remained filled with cool calmness and even scorn. Even though he was laughing, it was not sincere. He had two expressions on his face.

However, he did not move away. He still silently leaned against the tree and watched the green weeping willows dance with the wind.

Suddenly, Xia Siyu’s phone rang, and this caught Bo Yan’s attention.

He looked back, and his eyes landed on her for a moment.

The lights in Film Studio were still on. A pale tint of orange cast half of Bo Yan’s figure in the shadows, while the other half remained hidden in the darkness.

Bo Yan’s public image had always been that of a cool and distant male God, with his expressions always being tucked away from his face. His background as an ex-university lecturer might have endowed him with a cultured man’s elegance. Together with his distaste of couple-shipping, and having a lowkey lifestyle outside of shooting, he emitted a distant feeling that seemed to forbid sexual relationships.

However, Xia Siyu felt that the darkness lurking beneath him at night right now might be his truest self. He might be concealing his emotions usually, but once his prey entered the hunting area, he would mercilessly hunt it down.

In front of her, he straightened his body. His gaze shifted and his long legs strode toward her.

Her phone continued to ring, but Xia Siyu did not pick it up. Even when Bo Yan neared her, she did not hide.

As Bo Yan continued to walk, the distance between the duo kept decreasing. They were only about four meters apart.

Her phone happened to stop ringing when Bo Yan reached her. The tourists in the Film Studio had dispersed, and the film crew had also gone home. Gone was the liveliness of the day, and the duo was plunged into a quiet world with their solitary presence.

Although the two of them were artists, they hardly met each other at their workplace. The last time they had gathered together was during dinner for Chinese New Year. But the duo’s conversation had not even reached ten lines, and the meal hadn’t even lasted an hour. Once they were done, both had gone their separate ways, harboring distaste for each other even as they left.

Yet, right now, Xia Siyu got a strong feeling that Bo Yan wanted to touch her face.
