Chapter 20: Ex-boyfriend (2)

Bo Yan did not say anything else, and his subsequent words became a light chuckle, dispersing slowly beside her ear.

Then, he released her wrist, backed away, raised his eyes, and looked at her.

With that gaze, he resumed his initial mighty and cold attitude as if the warm breaths and soft lips from earlier were an illusion.

Before he left, Bo Yan even tidied his clothes and nodded to Wei Jingjing and greeted her when she ran toward them. Wei Jingjing did not dare to offend him and hurriedly bowed and greeted him back.

Bo Yan then strode off, ignoring the people behind him and Xia Siyu, who was still standing rooted to the ground. He walked towards the parking lot without turning back and drove off.

The Maybach quickly drove out and disappeared at the end of the highway.

On the return journey, everyone was strangely silent in Xia Siyu’s van.

Xia Siyu was the first to board the van. After she got onto the van, Wei Jingjing closed the door and started to resolve the matter with a strange calmness. “Everyone must keep whatever happened today a secret. The details are unclear, so you must not spread nonsensical rumors. All of you should know about Siyu’s situation. She’s not afraid of being criticized, and this would only be an additional stroke to her existing rumors. However, if we offend Bo Yan… you should already know the consequences.”

Xiao Tang, the make-up artists, and the security guards were part of Star Entertainment. They were on the same team. However, if news about Xia Siyu and Bo Yan’s scandal broke out… the monetary value from it would be worth more than millions of dollars. Such a huge profit might tempt many. Therefore, Wei Jingjing decided to warn them first.

Although the few of them were shocked, they calmed down soon. Needless to say, Bo Yan’s team would be silent too. He had the backing of Yan City’s Bo Family. The journalists would still be merciful to him and no one dared to provoke him easily.

Luckily, the film studio had already closed. There were no extra staff or tourists outside. Otherwise, their kissing scene would have been witnessed by many and it would already be in the news. The internet would become paralyzed!

The van drove to the city center. Star Entertainment was coincidentally in the mid-point of their journey. The two security guards and the make-up artist alighted the van. Before they stepped out of the van, Wei Jingjing warned them again with her eyes, telling the three of them to behave themselves. After they had closed the van doors and left, only Xia Siyu, the driver Xiao Tang, and Wei Jingjing were left in the van.

There were only three people, but the atmosphere in the van was extremely heavy.

Wei Jingjing and Xiao Tang exchanged glances through the rearview mirror. They did not even dare to breathe loudly.

Actually, Wei Jingjing had already suppressed her burning curiosity for the entire journey. She was a bit weird—If a small incident had happened, she could’ve made a huge fuss and got to the bottom of it. If Xia Siyu had done anything foolish again, she would’ve even complained—like what had happened at the Jin’Ao Movie Film Festival.

However, if something really big happened, she would instead stutter and not dare to say or ask anything.

When the van stopped at the junction, and they waited for the traffic lights to turn, Wei Jingjing could not hold herself back anymore. Under the pretense of work, she asked, “What’s going on with you and Bo Yan? You need to tell me everything. If something really happened, I can tackle it better.”

Xia Siyu had been silently leaning against the van seat for the entire journey. When she heard this, she remained expressionless and only said in a soft voice, “Nothing. If you have to know, he was my ex-boyfriend.”
