After the auditions, the next step was theoretically discussing the remuneration, filming period, and the position of the actor or actress.

The position was insignificant yet important at the same time. Even if one deemed it important, it was, in reality, not very useful. The reason was that fundamentally, the movie itself and one’s ability to act as the character were more important.

In Wang Ju’s movie, the first position was Bo Yan’s. The key point of contention was the main female lead and the second female lead. Although one was a primary character and the other was a secondary character, there was a problem with the actresses. If Li Yiru had been the second female lead, they might not be so conflicted now.

However, they did not expect a challenge to appear: Xia Siyu.

Xia Siyu had debuted six years ago and filmed eight movies. She was the main character in all of them. Although she had never received any award and her reputation was poor, her movies managed to sell quite well at the box office. Some of the audience, despite passionately criticizing her online after her ‘glorious’ incident two days ago, went to watch her movie with conflicted emotions. Moreover, her acting still managed to move them.

As to Shang Feier’s side, if she had not won the Best Actress Award, her influence might be weaker. However, with her having the Best Actress Award and getting the role as the main female lead, the balance was now broken.

Actually, Xia Siyu was not concerned about her position; otherwise, she would not have single-mindedly chosen the role of the second female lead instead of the main female lead.

However, it did not matter whether she was concerned or not. She needed to follow what her team thought.

Especially her manager—Qin Baizhou.

Qin Baizhou could be considered as the classic example of an inspirational figure. From an ordinary talent scout, he became the boss of Star Entertainment within a few years.

Seven years ago, he had discovered Xia Siyu and brought her into the entertainment industry. Three years ago, when Xia Siyu was mired in ugly rumors and was being scolded by the entire Internet, he founded Star Entertainment alongside a few other business partners and signed her on. He forged a new path for her and elevated her to fame from being criticized. His actions made her one of the top celebrities.

Although Xia Siyu was constantly being scolded, she also gained a lot of attention. The sponsors and investors always alternated between signing her on and rejecting her.

However, no one could deny that she was a celebrity, a huge celebrity.

As long as she attended an event and was thrown into a crowd, all the cameras would automatically turn toward her. She also dominated the top searches, squeezing others aside and making them invisible.

However, if Xia Siyu did not have Qin Baizhou to help her settle matters, she would lose half of her glory. She would have probably been forced out of the entertainment industry after being scolded three years ago.

Xia Siyu’s action of taking up the role of the second female lead was a last-minute decision. She had even driven to the auditions herself due to the tight time constraint. Naturally, she had yet to tell Qin Baizhou or even Wei Jingjing about the matter. Hence, she was here all alone.

She only remembered to make a call after being asked. “I’ll communicate with my manager first.”

Shang Feier was not anxious as she had come prepared. She could communicate with her team regarding the remuneration and filming time. She did not have to battle for her position or other matters. Instead, she handed everything over to her company.

On Bo Yan’s side, everything had already been settled, so he was not very bothered. He only looked at Xia Siyu with narrowed eyes.

She called Wei Jingjing, but the latter did not pick up.
