Chapter 1692: Chapter 514: Titan God King, Griffon, and Skeleton Arcane King
In the blink of an eye, Bonnie and several Revolutionary Army cadres had already rushed to Leonard Churchill’s side.
Looking at him with no intention of retreating, Sam, at the forefront, shouted anxiously, “Run, Brother Leonard!”
Leonard’s gaze rested on Sophia Jones, who was covering their retreat in the distance, and he shook his head, indicating for everyone to stop.
The Netherworld Channel was fraught with danger and inhabited by super tier beings.
Although the numbers of the Skeleton Monsters were high, their tiers were not considerable; they could be dealt with.
If they blundered ahead recklessly, they might encounter monsters that they could not cope with next time.
After Leonard had tested and killed a few Skeleton Monsters without further elaboration, he was the first to join the fight.
“Thud” “Thud” “Thud…”
Fists fell like rain, Overlord Fist’s strikes made the surrounding space thud like knocking on a mountain.
Those Skeleton Monsters were inherently brittle, and in the blink of an eye, they broke into piles of broken bones.
Bonnie and the other cadres originally wanted to remind everyone that these monsters could truly resurrect, but when they caught up to Leonard, they found the Skeletons he killed were utterly silent, showing no signs of reviving.
Having been with Leonard day and night for several months in the Magical Beast Forest, everyone was accustomed to his surprising abilities that he did not always show.
Seeing this, they realized that Leonard had figured out the principle behind the Skeletons’ resurrection.
Noticing this, Bonnie’s severe panic instantly dissipated, and she exclaimed with delight, “Leonard, you can kill those Skeletons?”
“Um.”
Leonard nodded, briefly explained while fighting, “Don’t run around. It’s dangerous here. Let’s work together to kill these Skeletons, I have a way to stop them from reviving.”
“Alright!”
Having heard this, the group responded in unison, turning to face and charge back against the incoming crowd of Skeletons.
Everyone was powerful; they killed vast numbers at once.
Leonard tried his best to extend the coverage of ‘Feast,’ absorbing the loose Extraordinary Traits from the shattered Skeletons.
After this trial, everyone found it effective and fought even harder.
Soon multi-layered piles of white bone mountains rose around them.
Sophia Jones had been entangled with two Seventh Rank Skeleton Knight Commanders; not that she couldn’t defeat them, but after killing them, they would resurrect, so she had been holding them off.
Now seeing Leonard handling the Skeletons, she slashed through the Skeletons with a few strikes.
Once Leonard devoured them, the two Skeleton Knight Commanders scattered into bare skeletons on the spot.
…
Despite their numbers, there were only so many Skeleton Monsters.
After Leonard and others had piled up several dozens of Corpsebone Mountains, everything finally came to a standstill.
With the crisis lifted, Bonnie and the others breathed a sigh of relief.
“Hahaha, thanks to the leader and Brother Leonard for meeting us, or else we could have been surrounded and killed by these Skeleton Monsters.”
“Yeah. Immortal and imperishable, really freakin’ weird.”
“Eh, Brother Leonard, what’s the deal with these Skeletons?”
“It seems this Netherworld mist has a special restorative effect on undead creatures, reviving their soul fire…”
“Netherworld?”
“Um. This is the ‘Netherworld Channel.’ These Skeletons might come from the Netherworld. Or perhaps they were ones trapped and died in the Death Domain…”
“…”
Previously, the group hadn’t realized the gravity of their situation and just thought it was like the Firefly Camp, wondering who had caused these roots.
After Leonard’s explanation, they realized they had one foot in the Netherworld.
But this astonishment only lasted a moment.
For these battle-hardened Revolutionary Army cadres, death was not so terrifying.
After listening to the explanation, they began to laugh and started collecting the Spoils of War.
Although the Skeleton Monsters carried corroded equipment,
The metals and materials that resisted corrosion and remained were good stuff.
Moreover, the two Skeleton Knight Commanders had two Advanced Relics, the ‘Herculean Serpent Shield’ and the ‘Lion Heart Scythe’ from Nimia.
The caliber of the weapons indicated that these two were certainly top-tier Generals in their lifetimes.
Though most of the Relics’ Extraordinary Traits had faded, the materials were still intact and even better than Bonnie and the others’ current equipment.
The shield was a perfect fit for Sam, and Uncle Dave, the assassin, received the scythe.
Leonard looked at the forging techniques and style of the equipment on the Skeletons, none of which matched any known ancient civilizations.
It seemed either a relic from before the Chaotic Era or not from the Card Master Plane at all.
And it wasn’t just the decaying equipment.
While digging through the piles of Skeletons, suddenly Rosin pulled out a black crystal from inside a Skull and asked the middle-aged man, “Eh, each of these Skeletons has a Crystal Core. What’s this thing? A Magic Core?”
John Charlie found one too, raising it as a signal, “Hey, I’ve found one too! Looks like the elite Skeletons all have them?”
But at the same time, he murmured after sensing it, “But it’s strange, the energy in this Crystal Core is weird, it’s not any known Elements.”
At that comment, everyone looked over.
Bonnie, being a capable Pharmacist, was familiar with various materials, and she recognized it at first glance, saying, “Haven’t you been to Summer Shepherd City? This is a ‘Dark Matter Crystal’…”
Sam asked with curiosity, “What crystal? Is it valuable?”
Bonnie shrugged, “I don’t know. Some monsters in Summer Shepherd City used to drop them, and everyone thought they were energy crystals like Magic Cores. Later, we found that special element was unusable, and no one hunted them anymore…”
If she didn’t know, it was unlikely anyone in the team did.
However, something occurred to Bonnie, and she turned to ask, “Leonard, do you know?”
“…”
Leonard, of course, recognized them.
He had personally been to Summer Shepherd City to explore, and he still had some of those crystals in his Storage Space.
