The formation immediately disbanded, with everyone strolling toward the shade and gathering in small groups here and there to gossip; many pointed and whispered about Xu Wenting.

“She looks so pitiful doing push-ups by herself.”

“She’s always so high and mighty, it’s her own fault she’s being punished by the instructor!”

“Exactly, just so…”

These idle remarks were overheard by Luo Mengmeng and Gu Zhihan, who were sitting not far away.

While twisting off a bottle cap, Gu Zhihan asked Luo Mengmeng, “Did Xu Wenting bully you?”

“How did you know?” Luo Mengmeng stared back at him in surprise.

She had been worried that he might think she was being petty, so she hadn’t told him about the incident, but now he’d figured it out on his own!

“Just a guess.” Gu Zhihan handed the now-open bottle of water to the young girl, his eyes glancing at Luo Yu who was watching Xu Wenting do push-ups, and continued, “If it wasn’t to take revenge for you, your little uncle wouldn’t treat a girl like that.”

Though failing to call out ‘report’ was a breach of discipline, it was a minor one; yet, he scolded Xu Wenting so harshly in front of everyone and even made her–a girl–do push-ups publicly. Then, he let everyone else take a break to “watch” her. This series of actions was indeed very telling.

So, the only possibility was that Luo Yu had a score to settle with Xu Wenting or somebody Luo Yu cared for had an issue with Xu Wenting.

The former was quickly rejected by Gu Zhihan because there was no chance Luo Yu and Xu Wenting knew each other, leaving only the latter as a possibility.

And the only person Luo Yu would care about in the military base was Luo Mengmeng.

After listening to his analysis, Luo Mengmeng felt a deep sense of admiration: “Gu Zhihan, it’s such a waste for you not to be a detective.”

“Such simple logic, who couldn’t figure it out?”

Gu Zhihan shot her a glance and took hold of her half-drunk bottle of water, placing it to his lips to take a drink.

Luo Mengmeng, seeing him tilt the bottle to drink, quickly reminded, “That’s the water I’ve drunk from!”
