Chapter 791: Chapter 628: Nine Tails
Several days had passed, and the entire area did not remain unchanged. Bloodline Power and the origin power of this world were in conflict, and gradually the power of the Silver Dragon gained the upper hand.
Apart from the building where Roger and the others were located, other areas emerged as the periphery expanded.
At that moment, on the top of the building beneath the massive body of the Silver Dragon, the body of the Nekomata appeared out of thin air. She was in her human form, still in black clothing, with two long whips wrapped from her wrists up, winding over her shoulders and converging at her back.
Suddenly, a light flashed in front of her as if opening another space. Through the haze, one could see distant mountains surrounded by chaos, and on the mountaintop was a humanoid rock.
The Nekomata crossed her hands, blood-red patterns crawling across her face, and after taking a strange pose, she pushed her palms forward.
The boundary of space broke, and in another place of unknown distance, fine lines etched across the humanoid rock; with a cracking sound, its stone surface fell away, revealing the figure hidden beneath.
A resolute face, a straight spine, and the Twin Blades at his waist that one could not gaze upon directly.
The focus of the Nekomata was not on the man but on something within the weapon hanging at his waist.
“Has the space passage been opened?”
Roger and Sword Master Funiu were hidden somewhere far away, and it was clear that the one currently making contact with the Nekomata was Higurashi Gushan.
But the state of Higurashi Gushan was somewhat strange, as though he was passively enduring everything, with empty eyes and a face devoid of any emotion.
Gradually, the energy within him was mobilized, yet his body began to tremble.
“Are we going into that place?”
Sword Master Funiu hesitated, as he had originally thought they would leave through the portal they had entered.
He could feel the subtle power coming from the opposite side.
It was the Land of Eternal Darkness.
Clearly, this was not a good choice.
“Wait a bit longer, the change is just beginning.”
Roger replied.
“Kneel down!”
“I said kneel!”
The Nekomata’s voice came, as she increased the energy circulating within her.
At the same time, Higurashi Gushan struggled to bend at the waist.
His eyes were lifeless, but pain began to surface on his face, and then he slowly knelt down on the earth before him.
“Good, that’s the way.” The Nekomata murmured to herself.
“Now, I want you to draw your weapon and execute the command given!”
Higurashi Gushan mechanically lifted his hand, then grasped the hilts at his waist.
His frame quivered slightly; the chaos in his eyes diminished a bit and, in the next moment, he suddenly raised his head, a struggle flashing in his eyes. He let go of the hilts and forcefully pounded the ground in front of him.
Bang!
Dust flew up with his roaring as Higurashi Gushan shot up from the ground, blood-red patterns flashing across his cheeks, issuing a skyward howl.
Despite the unknown distance separating them, Higurashi Gushan’s resistance could be felt by the Nekomata across space itself.
Crackling!
The crossed hands of the Nekomata were forced apart by a power, and she wavered slightly, followed quickly by a flicker of anger on her face.
“I bestowed upon you that power; your body and soul should belong to me, and to our great master!”
“Do not make me destroy you!”
The Nekomata roared, “This is your last chance, otherwise, I will have to seek a new human spirit!”
It seemed Higurashi Gushan understood the Nekomata’s words, but he became even more violent, swinging his fists wildly, destroying everything he saw before him with reckless abandon.
Seeing this scene, Roger finally understood why there were hardly any other monsters in the vicinity of the peak where Higurashi Gushan was located.
It appeared that those who wandered there by mistake had already tested Higurashi Gushan’s fists’ hardness with their blood and bones.
Indeed, a strong person is not to be feared.
But a person who is both mad and strong is the most terrifying of all.
As time passed, due to the Penetration of different spaces, the energy around them began to change again, and energy belonging to the Land of Eternal Darkness began to flow into this realm. The old balance was disrupted, and the new configuration was not balance but chaos.
The Silver Dragon floating in the sky emitted unconscious twitching movements.
Roger began to understand why Higurashi Gushan had chosen to stay in the Land of Eternal Darkness; it was only there, amid the chaotic energy, that he could add metaphorical weight to resist the Nekomata’s control when she opened the passage!
The control of identical attributes forced him to resist in such a manner, yet even then, he could not break free from control completely.
His gaze landed on the Twin Blades at Higurashi Gushan’s waist, and he began to understand Higurashi Gushan’s choice to store a portion of his memories and power in his weapons instead of his own body.
And this was a measure born of no other choice.
He instantly thought of the Spirit Sword Project.
Could it be that Sword Master Cold Crow’s goal was also similar to that of Higurashi Gushan?
Then how did he manage to evade positioning and remain within Everworld all this time?
As time elapsed, more and more power from the Land of Eternal Darkness entered this space; energy became chaotic, and the environment began to change.
This scene brought a hint of surprise to Sword Master Funiu’s face.
“The previous space transformation seemed to be like this.”
“Look over there!”
Sword Master Funiu pointed in a direction, where the portal he and Roger had used to enter this place was located.
“Follow me, let’s leave this place!”
His face brightened, and he patted Roger on the shoulder.
