Chapter 803: Chapter 634: End? Begin?

The power of the Guardian Spirit surged into his body, and the Ran’ei Divine Master mobilized every ounce of strength to heal his wounds. However, within the injuries, there was more than Spiritual Power–there was also the force of his bloodline.

The more the blood flowed, the more the aura of the Ran’ei Divine Master began to weaken.

“What a shame. If those two… if they had only given me more strength, I surely could have killed you!”

The Ran’ei Divine Master’s face twisted with resentment. “I should have killed you back in Hankawa!” At this moment, deep regret consumed his heart.

Even though Roger had escaped his grasp several times, the Ran’ei Divine Master had never truly taken Roger seriously.

But now, an insignificant nobody had brought about his death.

The wound on his chest kept expanding. The Ran’ei Divine Master knew his fate was sealed. He tried desperately to straighten his spine, but coughed up even more blood.

“It won’t be long before news of the Funiu Sword Pavilion spreads across all of Everworld. When that happens, not only will the Tengu Shrine but all the other Sword Pavilions and Shrines march here to flatten Qinglu Mountain!”

“I’ll be waiting for you down below!”

The ferocity on the Ran’ei Divine Master’s face faded. He hoped to die with the dignity of a Divine Master, but then he felt a chill behind him–his knees were slashed by a blade.

His body uncontrollably lurched forward. He reached out in mid-air, but his body was stiff as wood, completely beyond his control.

“Thud!”

His face smashed onto the stone slab in front of him.

Dirt and fragments choked his mouth and lungs. In his dying breaths, he heard the familiar voice of a woman.

“Attacking low-tier cultivators? Someone like you deserves no better than to die kneeling.”

It was Miyanori Chiyoko.

The Ran’ei Divine Master’s face turned crimson with blood rage. He opened his mouth yet failed to utter a word. The divine light in his eyes slowly faded as the blood pouring from his chest dyed the ground beneath him entirely red.

Roger looked at the Ran’ei Divine Master’s kneeling corpse in silence.

Along his path forward, he had already encountered such scenes far too many times.

At this moment, Sword Master Funiu’s injuries began to heal somewhat. He struggled to sit up, his eyes filled with astonishment as he gazed at Roger.

In the brief time since they had separated, Roger’s strength had grown to a level the Sword Master Funiu could hardly fathom.

“You saved us and rescued all of Qinglu Mountain!”

Now, shadows of people began to emerge in the distance–survivors from the earlier battle, sword disciples who had narrowly escaped death.

Roger swept his gaze casually across the area. On the edges of the square, in the corners of the buildings, he saw an expanse of corpses.

The losses of the Funiu Sword Pavilion were beyond words.

Miyanori Chiyoko helped Sword Master Funiu rise to his feet. Her gaze toward Roger flickered with complex emotions.

Thinking back on her past actions, Miyanori Chiyoko didn’t even know how to face Roger. As she raised her eyes, she noticed a fiery figure near the white jade railing.

Red Sparrow.

“You didn’t take the opportunity to escape.”

Miyanori Chiyoko approached Red Sparrow.

“Why should I leave?” Red Sparrow gave a serene smile.

“I only want them to know the truth!” she declared loudly.

Miyanori Chiyoko’s face darkened coldly. “But you shouldn’t have revealed the Sword Pavilion’s situation to the Tengu Shrine!”

“You’ve betrayed us! Betrayed Qinglu Mountain!”

She questioned sharply.

“And what about you?” Red Sparrow sneered, her gaze bypassing Miyanori Chiyoko to land on the trio–Sword Master Funiu, Miyanori Chiyoko, and Roger.

“Were we supposed to remain ignorant, to be used as breeding tools by you?!”

“This was all for survival–the price one must pay to thrive in this merciless world!”

Miyanori Chiyoko raised her head, her gaze unwavering. “I know your reasons for doing this, but I’ll tell you this: even if given another chance, we would do it all the same.”

“Only by staying alive do you earn the right to discuss life after survival.”

She had always been impulsive and emotionally driven, but this great upheaval had tempered Miyanori Chiyoko’s demeanor significantly.

“Your revenge is aimed at me alone, isn’t it?”

She locked eyes with Red Sparrow. “You want me to pay the price for my actions, to regret what I’ve done, don’t you?”

Miyanori Chiyoko’s words pierced through Red Sparrow’s heart. Red Sparrow’s body shook faintly, her face contorted with intense hatred.

A thin stream of blood dripped from the corner of her mouth as she leaned back against the white jade railing, slowly sitting down.

Blood seeped from her eyes, ears, and nose. Red Sparrow said nothing, resting her head against the railing and staring wide-eyed at the distant sky.

Seeing this, Roger sighed deeply. He hadn’t expected that a woman’s hatred could bring about the downfall of such a mighty force.

Having betrayed Funiu Sword Pavilion, Red Sparrow had no reason left to live. Miyanori Chiyoko also bowed her head, feeling that at least half of the disaster here was her fault.

Saito Tsuyoshi and another companion busied themselves with evacuating the crowd in the square, while Miyanori Chiyoko helped Sword Master Funiu walk toward the grand hall atop the mountain.

Roger followed the two closely.

Endowed with the bloodline of the Atlas Great Bear, Sword Master Funiu’s crisscrossing injuries began to recover significantly after returning to the grand hall.

However, only superficial wounds healed–there remained deeper, more profound traumas.

“What do you plan to do next?”

After a short rest, Roger broke the silence.

The revelation of their bloodline had made Funiu Sword Pavilion the biggest outcast in all of Everworld.

It wouldn’t be long before the Shrines returned in force, and when they did, annihilation awaited them.
