Chapter 33: She Was Becoming Less And Less Like Herself

After the old lady paid the bill, she bade farewell to them smilingly and left. Su Yanxi was still immersed in the conversation between the old lady and Lu Jingyan when it was their turn. The anger in her heart couldn’t be dispelled.
Lu Jingyan saw that the woman in front of him was lost in thought, so he gently pushed her, “It’s your turn.”
After being pushed by him, Su Yanxi snapped out of her daze and glared at him angrily. She walked to the cashier and placed the sanitary pad on the counter without any hesitation. She smirked and said, “Pay up.”
Looking at the smile on her lips, Lu Jingyan calmly took out his wallet from his jacket, pulled out a red sweater, and tossed it on the table.
“May I ask if you need a bag?” The cashier smiled politely and looked back and forth between the two of them. When she saw Lu Jingyan, she even became a little infatuated.
Su Yanxi looked at the ‘lonely’ sanitary pad. She felt that it was not good to take it out like this, so she replied with certainty, “Yes.”
After exiting the supermarket, Su Yanxi walked in front of him. Seeing that he had unlocked the car, she opened the door of the front passenger seat and got in.
The two of them returned to the riverside villa in silence. Su Yanxi put her laptop and bag back in her room and went downstairs to the kitchen to boil some warm water and drink the medicine for gastritis. Lu Jingyan then went straight to the bathroom to wash up.
Ten minutes later, Su Yanxi returned to the bedroom again. She looked around but didn’t see Lu Jingyan. She raised his eyebrows and thought for a moment. Thinking that Lu Jingyan had gone to the study, she got her pajamas from the cloakroom and prepared to go to the bathroom.
There was no movement in the bathroom. Even the door was not locked. Su Yanxi simply opened the door and entered.
Su Yanxi froze on the spot when she looked into the bathroom. It was as if an atomic bomb had blown her up. She couldn’t move at all as her eyes were filled with emptiness and surprise.
Lu Jingyan, who was about to wrap a towel around his body, was stunned when Su Yanxi opened the door. He did not expect her to suddenly open the door and walk in. However, when he saw Su Yanxi’s shocked expression, he instantly calmed down. He slowly pulled the towel over his lower body and tilted his head to look at her. His eyes were still wet, making him look especially charming.
“Barrister Su, do you like to launch sudden attacks?” There was a hint of mockery in his calm tone.
“Y-you… Why didn’t you… make any sound when you were showering?” Su Yanxi had always thought of herself as a calm person, but for some reason, ever since this man moved back to the villa, he had repeatedly broken her usual rationality.
“I’m already done.”
“T-then why aren’t you wearing any clothes?”
“I was just about to.” Lu Jingyan pulled down another towel and casually wiped the water droplets from his hair. He looked at her lazily, “Do you still want to see me?”
“W-who wants to see you?” When Su Yanxi heard this, she immediately turned around unnaturally and turned her back to him, “Why didn’t you lock the door when you were showering?”

Su Yanxi was rendered speechless. In her anger, she had no choice but to take her clothes out of the bathroom and sit on the bed. However, she kept thinking about Lu Jingyan’s actions just now. She raised her hand to hold her forehead in frustration. What had happened to her recently?
She was becoming less and less like herself.
The bathroom door opened again and Lu Jingyan walked out. Seeing her angry look, a hint of a smile flashed across his eyes, “Go and wash up!”
