Chapter 22: A Sudden Storm!

Gabriel, who had been awakened by the thunder, sat by the bed in a daze.

He rubbed his sleepy eyes, yawned, and walked to the window.

The sky was covered with dark clouds. Pieces of dark clouds covered the entire sky, giving him a very depressing feeling. From time to time, there would be a few flashes of thunder in the sky.

The strong wind outside the house was whistling, blowing so hard that the entire window was trembling.

“Is it raining?” Gabriel was very sleepy. He could not understand why it would rain on such a good day.

A storm was not a good thing for his farm.

Gabriel looked at the scene outside the window and suddenly had a bad feeling. He immediately came back to his senses and ran out of the house in a pair of slippers.

Regardless of how heavy the rain was, he ran madly in the storm and arrived at the area where the Ancient Elven Tree was planted.

“If I come a little later, it’ll probably really break,” Gabriel wiped the rain off his face and said while panting heavily.

The strong wind was like a conqueror. It was blowing so hard that the Ancient Elven Tree was about to break.

The Ancient Elven Tree had not matured yet, so it could not withstand such torment. If Gabriel had come a step later, he might have said goodbye to his precious sapling.

He picked up a few boulders from the ground and set up a windshield in the southeast of the Ancient Elven Tree.

It was far from not enough. Gabriel came to the side of the lake and called out to the giant Ice Lake Python that was enjoying its time in the lake.

The giant Ice Lake Python looked at Gabriel in a daze. There was some doubt in its eyes. The Ice Lake Python was trying to express its unwillingness.

“I’ve a mission for you. After you complete the task, I’ll reward you with a few pieces of meat!” Gabriel saw the giant Ice Lake Python, and he was furious. He raised his fist and hit the giant Ice Lake Python’s body.

Ice Lake Python did not have any reaction, but Gabriel’s fist was slightly red.

Hearing the word “meat”, Ice Lake Python immediately woke up. It looked different from before. It was no longer tired.

Then, Gabriel brought the Ice Lake Python to the side of the Ancient Elven Tree and let it guard it.

Ice Lake Python used its body to shield the Ancient Elven Tree. It was like a safe haven.

In the eyes of others, the strong wind that could destroy everything. However, it was just a tickle to the Ice Lake Python.

Before leaving, Gabriel was still a little worried. He said, “Don’t be lazy. If this tree falls, I’ll ask Doggie to drag you to the pot, and I’ll cook you.”

For some reason, when Ice Lake Python heard the word “Doggie”, its huge body actually trembled a little.

Gabriel called Doggie back into the house. He was not worried that the Ice Lake Python would be affected by the storm. The Ice Lake Python was a water-attributed monster, so it would have an additional boost to its overall strength on a rainy day.

Gabriel took off his soaked clothes and changed into a set of clean clothes.

Doggie shook off the rainwater on its body, splashing water all over the house.

“I don’t have to worry about monsters tonight.” After Gabriel settled Doggie down, he returned to his bedroom.

On a rainy day, most monsters would not leave their territories. They had a natural reverence for nature.

Therefore, it would be a peaceful night, and Gabriel could have a good sleep.

After cleaning everything, Gabriel lay in the warm bed and opened the world channel. He wanted to see who was affected by the storm.

When he opened the world channel, it was flooded by plenty of messages.

[Damn it! Why is there a storm?]

[Oh my god! The plants I planted this morning were all destroyed by the storm!]

[Ahem, let me give you a piece of advice. Don’t stand under the big tree, I was almost struck by lightning just now!]

[Are you kidding me? I feel like my house is going to collapse!]

[Luckily I’m in the desert area, it doesn’t rain all year round here, I’m dying of thirst!]

After reading the messages, Gabriel also had a rough understanding about the situation.

The farmers in the desert did not get involved in the storm. On the other hand, the rainforests had the highest rainfall. Many of the farmers’ crops had been washed away by the heavy rain. It was like the world was ending.

After exiting the world channel, Gabriel yawned and listened to the rhythm of the rain hitting the window. He gradually fell asleep.

After a night, the storm stopped. The storm washed over everything in the farm.

The sun hung in the sky as usual, giving out a dazzling light and giving warmth to all things.

The sunlight shone on Gabriel’s face through the window. When he felt the scorching sunlight, Gabriel sat up and stretched.

“This is the first time I’ve slept so comfortably in this world.”

Gabriel rubbed his messy hair and walked out of the bedroom lazily.

He came to the front of the Ancient Elven Tree. At this moment, the Ice Lake Python’s eyes were closed. It seemed to have fallen asleep. Fortunately, the Ancient Elven Tree did not fall.

He did not know if it was an illusion, but he felt that the Ancient Elven Tree had grown taller.

“Breakfast is ready!” Gabriel patted its head. At the same time, he felt a little helpless. His pet only knew how to eat and sleep.

He took out three large pieces of meat and placed them in front of Ice Lake Python.

Due to the fragrance of the meat, it opened its eyes and swallowed the meat in front of it. It wiggled its body slightly and continued to lie on the ground and sleep.

Gabriel could do nothing about it. He continued to check everything on the farm.

The water bamboo was not affected by the storm because it needed a lot of water. Therefore, the rainy day was a good thing for the water bamboo.

The potato bombs were not so lucky. As one of the crops that could only grow in hot areas, they were most afraid of water.

Gabriel cleaned up the mess a little. He did not lose a lot. He had lost two potato bomb seeds only, and it was still within his tolerance.

“I still have to see if I can trade for a canopy blueprints.”

Gabriel muttered. He had to be fully prepared to take care of special seeds like potato bombs. If the storm last night had lasted a little longer, then a lot more potato bomb seeds would be destroyed.

After checking everything, Gabriel continued his daily routine.
