“Let’s go. Isn’t their beef noodles the best? Besides, I heard Senior Cao really likes that restaurant.” Shen Xifei said, evidently not wanting Xie Wanying to spoil her rare good mood tonight.

“That’s true. She might not even go into that restaurant to eat. It’s good food but expensive.” Huang Beibei said, deducing from Xie Wanying’s usual attire and appearance that she wasn’t a student who could afford to dine there, and thus probably wasn’t there to eat.

The three of them continued into the food stall area. Not seeing Xie Wanying anywhere, they felt relieved and found a table to sit at. Once seated, they were looking at the menu when a waiter passed right in front of them carrying a pot of congee.

The aroma of the congee made all three turn their heads, curious about what kind of congee it was. Soon, their eyes widened in disbelief at the scene before them.

“She, she’s–” Huang Beibei’s voice trembled as if she was biting her tongue.

Shen Xifei grasped the armrest of her chair, craning her neck to look at a table in the corner of the restaurant.

The location of the table was hidden, so they hadn’t noticed it when they had entered. At one side of the table sat Xie Wanying, and at the other side sat–

“Eat, don’t starve yourself.” Cao Yong handed a clean napkin over to wipe the chopsticks and passed them to the person across from him.

Xie Wanying took the chopsticks in both hands and asked, “What about you, Senior?”

“I’ll have the noodles. They’ll be ready soon and brought up, don’t worry about me not having anything to eat.” As he spoke, Cao Yong carefully examined her face once more.

Being looked at like this by Senior, Xie Wanying touched her face and said, “It doesn’t matter–”

“Don’t touch it. Find some medicine to take.” Cao Yong quickly reached out his hand across the table, gently grasped hers, and lowered it.

The hand that Senior held felt a bit warm. Xie Wanying retracted her hand and felt her heart skip a beat, unclear what had happened.

“It’s a bit too hot.” Cao Yong scrutinized the bowl of congee in front of her, frowning as he judged its temperature as a doctor. Her face was injured, so she shouldn’t eat anything too hot, so he called over a waiter, “Bring me a spoon and a small bowl.”

Once the utensils arrived, Cao Yong used the spoon to transfer the congee into the small bowl then stirred it to cool it down, being very careful with every movement.

“Senior, I can do it myself,” Xie Wanying said anxiously. Whenever she was with Senior Cao, she felt like a spoiled little sister, not having to do anything.

Looking at her, Cao Yong’s mouth curved into a smile.

His smile was dashing, his dimples deep and bright, making Xie Wanying’s hand reaching for the spoon unconsciously retract.

“Have you taken your medicine?” he continued stirring the congee as he asked.

“Yes.” Xie Wanying nodded, “Senior Tao prescribed some medicine. Teacher Nie gave me a bottle of imported spray for my wound.”

Listening to these two guys, Cao Yong’s eyes narrowed: If it had been up to him, he would never have allowed her to face such danger.

Zhang Xiaohui and the other two saw everything clearly from their table: They had not mistaken the person.

“It really is Senior Cao.” Covering her heart, Shen Xifei sat back down, gasping in disbelief. She couldn’t understand why these two were dining together.

“They two–” Huang Beibei pondered, not daring to voice her suspicion that they might be a couple. Turning her head, she saw Zhang Xiaohui’s face looked even worse than Shen Xifei’s, completely pale.
