Chapter 13: Try Being Arrogant Again

The other young man laughed and placed his arm on Cao Kun’s shoulder. “Things are different now. Lin Yi is already married. Are you going to help her cheat? I know she’s shameless, but I had no idea you were the same.”

The smug and arrogant smiles on Cao Kun and Zhao Bin’s faces froze.

“You were desperate and pathetic when you wanted to borrow money. Now, are you pretending to have amnesia just because I want you to pay me back?” Lin Yi said slowly, “Alright, I’ll settle the score for you.”

“Cao Kun, you borrowed a total of $57 from me, and Zhao Bin borrowed $34. You two often ask me for the things my family sends me. As for the number of times you come to my place to freeload, I can’t even keep track. Am I right?”

Tens of dollars were not a small sum in this era. $1 was enough for the daily living expenses of a family of three.
