Chapter 48: Desperate Situation

Su Ruoxue arrived at the Su Cosmetics Group in no time.

She was in such a great mood, her gait was lighter and much faster than normal. It was as if she was floating!

After arriving at the office, Su Ruoxue began to give out instructions.

“Miss Wang, immediately notify all company executives that we’re meeting soon. This time, our Su Group is going to have a big break!”

Miss Wang, a docile girl, was Su Ruoxue’s new secretary.

She wasn’t too ecstatic when she heard Su Ruoxue’s remarks and responded in a cautious tone:

“CEO Su, the board of directors are already waiting for you.”

Su Ruoxue was stunned.

“Why did they come today?”

“I’m not sure, but they’re all here!”

“Heh! What do these old guys want now? Come, let’s go take a look.”

Su Ruoxue hurriedly toward the meeting room with her secretary in tow, her high heels clacking.

The two arrived at the conference room, greeted by the Su Group’s board of directors in their entirety.

Seeing Su Ruoxue approach, many of the men cast a frivolous glance at her.

Su Ruoxue felt a little sick. Most of these men were old enough to be her father, and some were even like her grandfather. Yet, they were still so perverse. How disgusting!

She sneered lightly to herself and sat down in the chairman position.

“Dear members of the board, your presence is not common these days. What brings you here today? And all at once, too.”

“Hehe… CEO Su, this corporation doesn’t just belong to you. We all have shares in it anyway, so what’s wrong? Are we not allowed to come?”

Su Ruoxue frowned but continued to talk.

“Of course not, Director Shi. If you have any concerns, please speak!”

“CEO Su, a few days ago, we all read the company’s most recent financial report, which has been dropping for several consecutive quarters now. If we continue this way, the organization will be ruined in your hands! For this reason, this old man has invited Director Bai, Director Li, and Director Zhou as well as the other directors with more equity to lead all the directors in casting a vote on whether CEO Su should retreat behind the scenes and step down from the position of director general.”

Su Ruoxue smiled coldly.

“I understand you are pressuring me to resign?”

Director Shi stroked his chin, a cunning look in his gaze.

“CEO Su, why do you have to be so blunt? We only feel that you are working too hard, so we want to help share the load with you. Either way, you still have your shares. Even if your position in the company is replaced, any profit earned will still be yours!”

“And what if I disagree? Don’t forget, I have 45% of the Su Group’s shares. There are 20% of the shares in circulation on the market right now, so you only have 35% total in your hands. You are not qualified at all to force me to resign!”

Su Ruoxue looked at the room with pride, but they did not seem to be panicked at all. Not only that, they began to laugh strangely.

“Director Su, our deepest apologies. We have just bought out the remaining 20% of shares from the market. We now have 55% of the shares in our hands and have absolute power to decide!”

“What?”

A spark of anger appeared in Su Ruoxue’s eyes.

“Did you guys set this trap for me?”

“Now, don’t put it like that, We are doing this on behalf of the corporation. Plus, you’ve been CEO for so long, it’s time to move aside for a new generation!”

Su Ruoxue clenched her fists. The Su Costemics Group was established through her own sweat and tears over several years of hard work. Today, these thieves are prying it from her hands.

Director Shi chuckled as he began to speak again.

“Of course, CEO Su, if you want to continue being the CEO, there is a way. You know that my wife passed away many years ago and that I’ve always harbored feelings for you. If CEO Su is willing to… marry me, this humble man, I will give you my 10% of shares willingly! What does CEO Su think of this offer?”

Su Ruoxue was trembling in anger.

“Keep dreaming, you pervert!”

Aside from the fact that this Director Shi was in his sixties and was old enough to be her grandfather, this was such a disgusting thought.

He had the audacity to think Su Ruoxue would sell her body for that 10% of stock. How invaluable did he think she was?

“Let me tell you guys. If you insist on doing so, I, Su Ruoxue, will never surrender. I will sell all the shares I currently possess and reestablish a new company.”

The room erupted in laughter, a satisfied expression on the directors’ faces.

“We know that CEO Su had received three exquisite formulas from the Tang family. Hehehe… Unfortunately, we’ve already paid out the research and development teams, so now we have a copy of all formula. Even if you create a new company, you cannot defeat us.”

“By the time you establish a new company and finish going through all the formalities and approvals, our product will already be on the market!”

“CEO Su, just admit your losses, hahaha…”

As the group of frivolous aged old men bellowed with arrogant laughter, Su Ruoxue fell deeper and deeper into despair.

“You… You guys are shameless!”

“Shameless? People are shameless in old age. We are all at this age; who still cares about having shame? We only care about banknotes… lots of banknotes. Hahaha…”

Su Ruoxue’s anger was about to burst. At this moment, she wanted to stab these buffoons with a knife!

But she couldn’t.

She was one weak woman against a group of thirsty wolves.

In the end, Su Ruoxue was embarrassingly removed from the conference room.

She didn’t even know how she managed to get home.

Her entire person felt like a walking corpse; she even managed to dent her Ferrari.

Xiao Chen and Ziyi had just returned from breakfast to see Su Ruoxue sitting in her car silently, a dazed expression in her eyes.

“Girl, whats wrong? Weren’t you all giddy this morning when you left?”

When she heard the word ‘girl’ come from Xiao Chen’s mouth, Su Ruoxue immediately began to sob. She wasn’t able to contain her suppressed emotions any longer.

“Waah… It’s over, it’s over! All my hard work is wasted. The company has been stolen by them! I’m no longer the CEO!”

Xiao Chen scrunched his brows. He had some idea of the power struggle between companies in the bottom of his heart.

“No big deal, I’ll finance you, and you can establish a new company.”

“It’s useless… They bought out the research team and stole all formula, too! Now, I have nothing. Aside from what’s left of my shares, I have nothing! They’re a bunch of bastards!”
