Toya was silent for a moment before saying calmly, “Marriage is nothing. Liking it or not doesn’t matter.”

Both of these things were unfamiliar to her. Like Reyes, her mother had died when she was very young. Her father, the head of the Madison family, Hernandez, had not married since her mother died.

She had been well protected by her father, Hernandez, since she was a child. Her father had many enemies in the business. Toya said, “I’m going to the Student Union. Are you going the same way with me?”

It was definitely not along the way. She had never seen Reyes in the Student Union.

Reyes had not joined any club yet. He lowered his eyes and asked, “Is the Student Union still recruiting? I’ll apply.”

It was on the way.

Toya finally sensed something was wrong. If Reyes didn’t like her and didn’t want her to be his stepmother, he had followed her to find evidence that she didn’t love Butler and thereby expose her to sabotage their marriage.
