Chapter 1457: Chapter 1018: Is the Goddess of Dawn Married Yet?
Ange rubbed his palms together, creating a ring between his hands. Then, with a strong twist, the ring expanded into a large circle filled with intricate magic patterns and imprints.
Faradi was stunned, staring at the patterns on the circle in disbelief, then glancing at Ange with an irrepressible eagerness in her eyes, as she unconsciously licked her lips.
Ange spread his hands wide, and one by one, smaller rings and circles nested within the larger circle, layer upon layer. Holding the construct with one hand, he freed up his other hand to begin adjustments.
The admiration and fervor in Faradi’s eyes quickly faded, replaced by a hint of fear. She silently took two steps back and mouthed something.
Negris, who understood Shell Language, recognized that her lip movements formed the word “monster.”
Power earns admiration, but power taken to extremes only provokes fear. Faradi felt like this ascetic monk, Ange, no longer belonged to the same species as her.
Hand-constructing arrays was already astonishing. To hand-create such a multi-layered teleportation array? This was nothing less than monstrous–a feat beyond human capability.
And Ange was still holding it with one hand, multitasking to adjust the coordinates. Have you seen a global transit station? He was practically a human-sized transit station.
After over ten minutes of adjustment, Anthony asked quietly, his tone tinged with curiosity: “What’s happening? This teleportation array seems far more complex this time. Is it troublesome? If it’s dangerous, just give up–we can’t let you risk yourself.”
Ange had always been quick with teleportation arrays, yet the extended adjustment time clearly indicated a higher difficulty.
Negris nodded, saying, “Complicated, indeed. But it’s not the teleportation array–it’s the coordinates. The space housing the coordinates is shifting, making alignment impossible.”
“Is it truly within a natural boundary?” Anthony asked.
Negris nodded again, replying, “It should be. And it’s a spatial-form natural boundary.”
Spatial boundaries were a particular type of phenomenon. The Farm Barrier was the most common example, while the Resting Camp–a multi-layered dimensional construct–was a more complex, artificial type.
Artificial constructs were usually smaller in scale. Yet, the immense and enigmatic Void contained another category–naturally formed boundaries. The Abyssal Big Mouth’s ‘Devouring Abyss’ belonged to this type.
The Big Mouth consumes the Origin and constitutes a natural class of phenomenon. The Abyss it creates is considered a ‘natural occurrence.’
What Negris referred to as a ‘spatial-form natural boundary’ was likely a structure akin to the Devouring Abyss, though certainly not of that magnitude. If it were on the scale of a Devouring Abyss, there’d be no point in alignment–they’d crumble upon connecting.
Following several adjustments, Ange finally discerned the spatial fluctuation patterns. He rubbed his hands once more, splitting the construct into two parts. One portion was slapped onto the ground, imprinting the teleportation array’s intricate designs. The other half was held aloft in his hand, ready for activation.
Faradi pursed her lips and whispered to herself, “Definitely not human.”
By inscribing the foundation of the teleportation array on the ground and maintaining the core coordinate array in hand, Ange was essentially subjecting himself to the immense energy transfer between the two constructs. It was no different than catching lightning with your bare hands and channeling it underground.
At this point, Faradi abandoned all thoughts of matchmaking Ange. To pair him with someone, at minimum, a goddess would be required. Wait–was the Goddess of Dawn married?
Surely, the Goddess of Dawn couldn’t have imagined that one of her followers was scheming about her in such a manner. After reconciling the coordinates, Ange proceeded with continuous adjustments, simultaneously deploying a Ghost Tourer for preliminary transmission.
The Ghost Tourer materialized in a pitch-black Void, surrounded by nothingness. Even its enhanced perception couldn’t register anything in the far distance.
But that didn’t matter. The Ghost Tourer merely served as an extension point for Ange’s senses. Through it, he stretched his perception outward to weigh and assess the surroundings.
The seemingly empty Void revealed itself in Ange’s vision as a grid of spatial blocks–like a colossal transparent magic cube composed of countless squares.
The Ghost Tourer had appeared within one of those squares. Slowly, the square shifted position, sliding sideways, almost as though an invisible hand was twisting the cube.
Along one edge of the square, a faint shadow lurked between the gaps of two adjacent blocks, covertly observing the Ghost Tourer. By all indications, this shadow was the Goddess of Dawn herself. She believed her hiding place was secure, never realizing that Ange had already encapsulated her within his perception.
Ange snapped back to reality and said to Negris, “Come.”
“Huh?” Negris was momentarily stunned. It was rare for Ange to seek help from him. Hurriedly, he established shared vision with Ange.
“Oh, the space is moving? Seems patterned–let me calculate it.” Negris quickly grasped the scenario upon seeing the countless spatial blocks, immediately diving into a process of deducing the movement’s logic.
The analysis took another half hour, and with the teleportation window nearing closure, Faradi couldn’t help but press them: “You’re not just sending a Ghost over, right? Aren’t you two going to teleport yourselves? The teleportation window’s about to shut!”
Her complaint drew no response. Ange continued measuring, and Negris meticulously deduced patterns. Without verifying the conditions on the other side, they wouldn’t risk personal transmission.
Meanwhile, the Goddess of Dawn didn’t emerge either. All she saw was the Ghost, which was clearly not the main party, rendering her unwilling to reveal herself.
Time ticked by, and by the time the teleportation window supposedly closed, the Ghost’s square had already shifted three positions.
Negris had gleaned some movement patterns but hadn’t perceived a teleportation window. To him, it seemed like standard spatial repositioning–what did this have to do with a teleportation window closing?
“Shift six coordinate points to the left,” Negris said. Ange adjusted accordingly, reconnecting the original coordinates, albeit six points displaced from the previous marker.
“The teleportation works fine,” Negris mused aloud, perplexed. “Could it be that her reference to the teleportation window wasn’t a constraint of space but rather her mathematical limitations? She simply couldn’t calculate beyond that?”
Another two hours passed as the spatial block movements repeated their patterns. Negris slapped his hip and exclaimed, “Got it! I’ve deduced its transformation sequence. There are precisely 736,921 variation permutations. By plugging in the current block’s position, we can derive the exact coordinate location–simple.”
Anthony was left dazed. “Lord Negris, can’t you explain it in simpler terms? If I teleport over, will I be able to return? I won’t get stranded there, right?”
Negris reassured him confidently, saying, “You won’t. In the worst-case scenario, simply follow the movement rules–you can exit this space within seven blocks.”
Given Negris’s unparalleled expertise, Anthony had no reason to doubt him. Nodding, he replied, “Alright, I’ll go.”
Stepping onto the teleportation array, Anthony vanished in a flash of light. When he reappeared, he was inside the very spatial block.
“Who? How is this possible? The teleportation window has closed–how did you still manage to get inside?” The Goddess of Dawn’s phantom in the block’s edge gap couldn’t suppress her shock and questioned him.
