Chapter 1098: Chapter 1098: Just for This_1
When she got home, Alexander was on the phone.
It sounded like he was instructing Zack Wallace to build a children’s playground on the island, with swings, slides, seesaws, and other toys for kids.
Purple Summers thought it was too early and really unnecessary–the child would need to be at least three to five years old to play with those facilities and the baby in her womb wasn’t even a month old yet.
But Alexander had been like a possessed man recently, completely unpersuadable, so Purple Summers just gave up trying to argue.
She went back to her room, feeling extremely fatigued. In fact, she hadn’t done any physical work today, yet she felt exhausted.
It seemed like pregnancy made her especially prone to fatigue.
Purple Summers, feeling irritable, kicked off her shoes and lay on the bed.
She stared blankly at the ceiling for a while, and then, almost involuntarily, she remembered the live streaming link Norton Young always shared in the class group chat–it felt like there was something suffocating her chest, making her feel extremely stifled.
She took out her phone, scrolled through the chat history, and clicked on that link–
The page immediately redirected to a live streaming website, where Norton had already uploaded numerous short videos. Purple Summers casually clicked one, and in the video, a serious Norton was disseminating legal knowledge.
It was apparent he was trying hard to make the video appear down-to-earth, preparing props with care, and interspersing jokes here and there as a relief, but the whole process was still incredibly dry and thin.
The click count at the bottom right corner was pitifully low, with comments either non-existent or just one or two ads.
All this for what?
Was it worth the effort to stage a fake lawsuit for this?
Purple Summers genuinely couldn’t understand.
However, since Norton had done it, there must be a subsequent plan.
Below were some other suggested live streaming channels. Purple Summers casually clicked on one where people were talking and singing. Subtitles flashed on and off, yet after watching for a while, she still couldn’t make heads or tails of it.
What on earth…
Alexander came in and casually slumped next to Purple Summers, “How come you’re watching live streams?”
“A classmate is doing this,” Purple Summers curled her lips, “I can’t understand what’s so interesting about this. People might as well watch a movie instead.”
Alexander chuckled, “The live streaming industry is quite complex, it’s a recent trend. A person who does well can make tens of thousands a month–that’s quite normal.”
Purple Summers was shocked and her eyes widened, “Just like this, tens of thousands a month?”
“Yep, there are streamers who earn hundreds of thousands a month,” Alexander stroked her head, “There’s no need to be surprised. Every industry has people at the top of the pyramid; it’s just that live streaming is new to you since you haven’t been exposed to it. I know a few friends who are preparing to invest in it.”
Purple Summers thought for a moment and asked him, “You mean Young Master Graves is also investing?”
Among Alexander’s friends, only Gavin Graves was related to media and entertainment.
Alexander: “…”
“If you get a certain amount of exposure in the news, how much of an increase in income can you expect?” Purple Summers asked earnestly, “Shall we call Gavin Graves and ask?”
Alexander said, “Gavin Graves? Who’s that? I’ve lost my memory and don’t know him.”
Purple Summers hit him playfully, “Stop joking. Even Young Master Graves’s younger brother came to our wedding.”
Alexander, deflecting the subject, said, “There won’t be a direct increase in income, but there will be potential business opportunities. It depends on how one can effectively operate and convert exposure into tangible benefits.”
Then, with a tone of disdain, he continued, “But explaining this to you is pointless; you wouldn’t understand. As a pregnant woman, you should worry less.”
Purple Summers also felt it was pointless.
With things as they were, delving deeper wouldn’t change anything.
The next day, when Purple Summers went to school, she didn’t see Norton’s figure. She asked her classmates and nobody knew the details.
After class, someone suddenly mentioned, “It seems Norton has taken a leave of absence.”
Another said, “He had no choice, after all, internships are starting next academic year, and people without grades can’t graduate.”
“It seems he also has two courses that need to be retaken.”
“The institute says two years to graduate, but actually, many people take several years to graduate, and in the end, they have to find other jobs…”
The classmates discussed the matter animatedly, while Purple Summers listened in silence.
