Connor took his phone out and dialed Thomas’s number once he was out of Seven Days Hotel.

“How can I help you, Mr. McDonald?” Thomas’ voice came through as soon as the call went through.

“Help me check out a guy named Todd Knowles,” Connor said softly.

“You got it, Mr. McDonald. I will send someone right away, and someone will contact you soon.” Thomas readily answered.

“Good.” Connor nodded and hung up. Then, he hurried to Porthampton University. A Bentley stopped in front of Connor before he could enter the university campus. A middle-aged man in a suit stepped out of the car and bowed to Connor with respect. “Hello, Mr. McDonald.”

Connor studied the man in the suit. “You’re Thomas’ guy?”

“Yes, Mr. McDonald. Mr. Morgan asked me to check the background of a man named Todd Knowles. I have obtained all his information. Are you going to go meet him now?” The man in the suit asked.

“Let’s go,” Connor said, nodding.

“Please, Mr. McDonald.” The man in the suit opened the car’s door, thoughtfully putting his hand under the roof rail. He was very diligent.

The man’s action made Connor feel awkward. “You don’t have to do that,” he said in a low voice.

“You are Mr. Morgan’s boss, and Mr. Morgan is my boss. It is my pleasure,” the man in the suit said.

“Okay. What is your name?” Connor smiled at the man in the suit.

“My name is Kyle Hayes. Just call me Kyle, Mr. McDonald.” The man in the suit said as he drove.

“You’re Kyle Hayes?” Connor was shocked, and his expression was changing dramatically.

“You heard of my name before, Mr. McDonald?” Kyle asked with a smile.

“Of course I’ve heard of you. You’re well known in Porthampton,” Connor replied in surprise.

“Haha, thank you for your compliment, Mr. McDonald. I am just a nobody in front of you. Please feel free to call me if you need me in the future.” Kyle looked at Connor respectfully.

Connor looked at Kyle helplessly, not knowing how to describe his feelings.

Everyone in Porthampton had heard Kyle’s name to a greater or lesser extent, and Connor heard the name from the mouths of his classmates. It was said that there was a bigwig who knew everyone in Porthampton, and his name was Kyle. “Well, let us check him out inside,” Connor said and headed straight into the bar. After a few moments, Connor found the private lounge that he had been to earlier, opened the door, and walked in.

Todd was playing poker when Connor came in. He was stunned for a moment before he grinned.

“Gee, isn’t this Connor, the cuckold? Why did you come back here? Are you going to lick my shoes or something?”

“I’m sorry, but it is my shoes that are dirty this time.” Connor looked at Todd and smiled calmly.

“Your shoes are dirty?” Todd was dumbfounded when he heard what Connor said. But, he quickly came to his senses and came up to Connor with an angry face.

Peter was sitting on the couch, squinting his eyes at Connor, and wondering what was Connor doing coming back here.

“Kid, you just said that your shoes were dirty, didn’t you?” Todd looked at Connor defiantly.

“That’s right.” Connor nodded lightly.

“This kid’s shoes are dirty. What do you all think we should do?” Todd looked to his underlings, and then, he barked with over a dozen men lunging up to surround Connor in an instant.

“Mr. McDonald just said that his shoes are dirty. Why are so many of you surrounding him, Todd?” Kyle stepped into the private lounge just then.

Peter was sitting on the couch drinking beer when he heard Kyle’s voice. He turned his head and was rooted to the spot, looking surprised when he saw Kyle.

“Who the hell are you?” Todd did not know Kyle and stared at him ruthlessly.

Peter came up and kicked Todd to the ground as soon as Todd’s voice trailed off.

Crash!

He then glared at Todd and berated him severely.. “How dare you talk to Kyle like that! Apologize!”
