Inside the ship, Captain Zoran was shocked and immediately shouted, “Quick! Fang Heng is going in! Cover him!”

That guy!

Still so reckless!

They had already realized that the eyeballs at the tip of the fleshy spikes might be a weakness and that they were immune to ranged attacks.

But so what?

The Federation soldiers simply couldn’t get close!

Fang Heng rushed toward one of the fleshy spikes, trying to approach the eyeball. Suddenly, the entire giant spike trembled, and numerous small spikes burst out from beneath its surface, shooting outward madly!

Immediately, a dense barrage of fine spikes engulfed Fang Heng.

Seeing this, Fang Heng quickly dodged to the side, avoiding most of the attacks. Even so, some of the tiny spikes still grazed and cut into his body.

Hmm?

What?

Fang Heng’s heart skipped a beat.

The spikes that pierced his body shattered into even finer powder-like fragments and exploded a second time inside his body!

“Bang! Bang! Bang!!!”

In an instant, Fang Heng was blasted into a bloody mess mid-air!

“Heh, as expected, this is kind of interesting…”

Fang Heng smirked mockingly.

He had long been prepared. He had already used his stealth skill to hide a group of Lickers beneath the battlefield and shared the incoming damage through the Life Diversion effect.

He looked miserable, but in reality, he wasn’t panicking at all.

The players on the ship saw Fang Heng and their eyes were filled with shock.

They watched as Fang Heng was continuously struck by a storm of fine spikes, his body already covered in bloody blast wounds. Yet, he still surged toward the eyeball at the top of the spike!

Inside the ship, the military high command stared at Fang Heng’s figure, their hearts pounding wildly.

That guy!

Was he even human?

The attack power of the Seed of Ouroboros’ tentacles was so strong that even their ship dared not get too close, and this guy charged in with just his body?

He could actually withstand that kind of damage!?

Just how terrifying was his HP and defense ability?

Captain Gisele stared hard at Fang Heng.

They had already determined that the eyeball at the tip of the tentacle was a weak point. If they could destroy the tentacles, they might be able to take down the insect nest in one go!

“Shoo!!”

When Fang Heng approached the eyeball, it suddenly opened, releasing a burst of purple light.

The light hit Fang Heng, and a trace of confusion flashed in his eyes.

Illusion!

“Break!”

Fang Heng shouted, and his gaze instantly cleared.

Just a mere illusion!

Fang Heng closed in rapidly on the eyeball, his right hand opening slightly as the blood-colored longsword on his back disintegrated into crimson sparks that condensed into a dagger in his palm.

The dagger had a different form than before. In addition to the red life force aura, it was also enveloped by a layer of gray death energy.

“Whoosh!”

“Bang!!!”

The dagger stabbed forward, instantly piercing the defensive barrier of the Seed of Ouroboros’ eyeball, then stabbed fiercely into the eye itself!

“Chi!!!!”

A massive critical damage number exploded from the eyeball, and the entire fleshy spike thrashed wildly in the air. It seemed as if the dagger was sucking the life out of it, while the gray aura of death invaded through the wound and spread throughout the spike.

Fang Heng grabbed hold of the tentacle’s surface tightly with his right hand and stabbed the blood-colored dagger deep into the eye once more!

“Chi!”

Bang!!!

With two stabs, the dagger exploded inside the eyeball, blowing it apart in the air!

Without its eyeball, the entire tentacle lost its power, collapsing weakly to the ground. Its shriveled body quickly turned gray and disintegrated into dust in the air.

[Hint: The player has slain Seed of Ouroboros’ tentacle*1.]

Fang Heng turned his gaze toward the next Seed of Ouroboros tentacle.

Shoo!

Fang Heng tapped lightly on the ground with his toe, turning into a shadow and darting toward the next tentacle.

“Bang! Bang! Bang!!!”

For a moment, the battlefield was filled not only with the sounds of cannon fire but also the explosions caused by Fang Heng piercing the Seed of Ouroboros’ tentacles.

Inside the ship, the Federation high command watched as Fang Heng swiftly took down one wildly thrashing tentacle after another, eyes filled with awe and fear.

That guy…

At first, they thought he was just a summoner-type player. Then he showed off his vampire spells, and they figured he was a spellcaster-type vampire.

But now they finally realized that Fang Heng’s melee combat ability was even more terrifying!

So he was holding back last time!

“Boom!!!”

In less than five minutes, all thirty-six giant fleshy spikes had their eyeballs pierced and shattered by Fang Heng!

The two warships were no longer threatened by the spikes and resumed moving forward, slowly advancing toward the central SS-level insect nest!

All weapons could now directly hit the SS-level insect nest without obstruction!

Concentrated energy beams!

Fire!

Once in range, the two warships simultaneously fired their concentrated energy beams at the SS-level insect nest. In an instant, the insect nest was struck by a barrage of light beams.

The insect nest’s main body had no offensive capabilities and convulsed violently under the attacks, spewing out large amounts of creep that birthed mutant worms charging at the ships.

But it was useless!

The firepower of the Federation and the Lickers was overwhelming!

Every newly spawned creature was instantly wiped out by the combined firepower of the Lickers and the Federation!

“Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!!!”

After ten full minutes of continuous assault, the insect nest’s HP was finally depleted, revealing a massive deep-red energy crystal embedded within.

Captain Gisele stared at the insect nest’s main body, which was still pulsating and shrinking rapidly despite having no HP left. A sudden sense of unease rose in her heart.

“Something’s wrong! It’s going to self-destruct!”

“Max out the energy barrier! Retreat!!”

The ships immediately deployed their defensive barriers and started retreating quickly.

Fang Heng frowned and also quickly followed Captain Zoran’s ship.

“Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!!!”

Ten seconds later, the SS-level insect nest exploded in front of the players, spewing out thick green liquid from its core.

The liquid was highly corrosive, and upon hitting the ship’s external energy shields, it sizzled loudly and rapidly drained the barrier’s energy levels.

“Accelerate the retreat!”

“Understood!”

Captain Zoran stared at the fluctuating numbers on the screen until the shield levels finally stabilized. He still felt a lingering fear.

Thank goodness they retreated quickly. If they had been any closer, the energy barrier alone might not have been enough to withstand the blast.

No one noticed that in the midst of the explosion, a Licker used its tongue to quickly snatch a cocoon ejected from the insect nest and hid it within its mouth. It then slipped underground using its stealth skill.
