Chapter 2927  Black Fog Prism Crystal

As the metal door on the right side of the hall opened, a strong smell of blood immediately wafted out from behind it.

“The hall is connected to the Black Fog domain through this passage. We believe that after Emery entered the teleportation hall, he opened the passage and took the fused cocoon into the Black Fog domain.”

As he spoke, Augustine took the lead and stepped into the passage, “Everything inside the passage has been left untouched. Hopefully, everyone can find some clues from it.”

Fang Heng followed the players into the passage.

The ground of the passage was littered with the bodies of Federation soldiers, but there were no signs of battle. It seemed that these soldiers had been killed without resistance, yet all of them wore an eerie smile on their faces.

Fang Heng noticed that every soldier’s wound was centered on the abdomen.

“It looks like they were under some kind of illusion or poison.”

Charlene glanced briefly at the corpse of the fallen Federation soldier guard on the ground.

“The wound on the abdomen was inflicted post-mortem. A new worm body was bred from within–it’s likely a manifestation of one of the Seed of Ouroboros’s abilities. It seems the fusion creature’s powers are related to reproduction and illusion.”

A supervisor from the military research department spoke up, “We conducted tests afterward and found no traces of toxins. Also, our laboratory area is strictly monitored, so there was no chance that the Seed of Ouroboros was fused here. Furthermore, our experiments have not yet reached the fusion stage. The fusion creature must have been brought in from the outside!”

A woman nodded and said, “It seems the invader came prepared.”

Soon, they reached the core area of the Black Fog domain through the long passage.

There were even more fallen guard soldiers here, over thirty of them, each with a gaping hole in their abdomen, looking especially tragic.

Fang Heng focused his attention on the center of the hall.

One black prism-shaped pillar after another connected the floor to the ceiling.

“Everyone, this is the core area of the Black Fog domain.”

“Through the core of the Black Fog, we can directly enter the game world in our main bodies. We refer to this as the ‘semi-game world.'”

The players present had never heard of the term ‘semi-game world’ before and turned to Augustine.

“To explain simply, the Black Fog Game invading the real world corresponds to individual Black Fog Game worlds. These worlds differ from normal game worlds, and their methods of entry are also different. That’s why we call them ‘semi-game worlds.’ Using the Black Fog prisms created with spawn technology, we can enter these worlds in our main bodies.”

“The ‘semi-game worlds’ often experience spatial fluctuations of the Black Fog, which create passages connecting to the real world, posing a great threat to it.”

Earlier, Archbishop Wolff from the Holy Court mentioned the recent frequent expansion of Black Fog Games and their connection to the Western District Federation.

The Western District Federation had gained some control over the Black Fog Games.

“Currently, there are 172 known prism world passages in the Western District Federation, 82 of which are advanced game worlds. However, we can only control 5 of them.”

“Based on some technological data provided by the spawns, we can block most of the randomly appearing exits from the ‘semi-game worlds’ and even intervene in their teleportation to some extent…”

“Wait,” a player suddenly thought of something and interrupted, “Supervisor, are you saying the Western District Federation can now directly enter the ‘Black Fog Game’ world through these black prisms?”

“Exactly.”

Augustine nodded and continued, “Due to electromagnetic interference from the Seed of Ouroboros, the hall’s monitoring system has been blocked. From the traces we have, we believe that Emery and the Seed of Ouroboros completely disappeared after entering the hall.”

“We have compared all the bodies on-site, and except for Emery, all the other bodies are accounted for. We can confirm that everyone else is dead.”

“Additionally, we have locked down the laboratory ship in the game, the upper teleportation hall, and the core area of the Black Fog domain. We can confirm that no one except the inspection team entered before the incident, and only Emery disappeared.”

Fang Heng sneered.

It seemed that Emery was the only suspect left.

A player stared at the black prisms and asked, “So, Emery took the mutant worm and entered the semi-game world through the prisms?”

“That’s what we believe as well.”

“The Black Fog world allows players to enter for a limited time, and there are other passages apart from this one. So the worst-case scenario…”

Augustine said in a deep voice, “This could be very dangerous. The Seed of Ouroboros is still in the fusion stage, but its strength is already formidable. If the fusion continues, its power will greatly increase in a short time and could even threaten the real world.”

It had already been confirmed that Emery had escaped with the Seed of Ouroboros.

After hearing the full story, the players all looked grim.

The Western District Federation had really gone too far this time.

The Seed of Ouroboros was known in the game as an Eternal Disaster, and now, that Disaster was descending right upon them!

With so many prisms in the hall, who could say where Emery had actually gone?

And then there was Emery’s identity.

If he turned out to be a spy sent by another district’s Federation, that might still be manageable. But if he belonged to some anti-federal organization–or worse, a terrorist group–it could spell total disaster.

Fang Heng sensed the aura of the Seed of Ouroboros. He stepped forward to the densely gathered black prisms, stopped, and opened his perception to reflect.

The other Federation-invited experts also spread out, starting to search the hall for clues.

Augustine and the minister of the Inspection Department walked up to Fang Heng and asked, “Mr. Fang Heng, after hearing the full story, do you have any leads?”

Fang Heng glanced at the minister of the Inspection Department.

“I can’t find anything here for now. I might need to go into the different worlds to investigate.”

“To prevent the Seed of Ouroboros from causing even more trouble, please begin your investigation as soon as possible. Our Federation will also implement an immediate action plan. If you manage to find clues about Emery and the cocoon, the Federation will surely reward you handsomely.”
