Chapter 55: If Her True Identity Was Exposed

The tavern’s door was pushed open, and a dozen bodyguards in black stormed in to surround him.

Now that he had gained the upper hand, Young Master Mu ran in front of Ji Anan as he gloated, “This scumbag had the nerve to play the hero in front of me. Now, I’ll give him a taste of what it’s like to go against me.”

Ji Anan pursed her lips. She didn’t want to drag Beiming Shaoxi into this mess. What was she supposed to do, tell Grandfather about the situation?

But soon, she realized that she was worrying for nothing.

Beiming Shaoxi was a skilled fighter and highly agile. When he kicked people, he used successive kicks.

Every single punch was insanely impressive…

Ironically, all the bodyguards were badly beaten until they were left with bruises and other unsightly wounds.

“Careful!”

Ji Anan caught sight of a bodyguard trying to sneak up on Beiming Shaoxi, and she grabbed a vase.

As if there was a pair of eyes in the back of Beiming Shaoxi’s head, he threw a punch backward, and the bodyguard that had tried to sneak an attack fell to the ground with a yelp.

The vase that Ji Anan threw therefore smashed on top of Beiming Shaoxi’s head.

Crash!

The vase broke into tiny pieces that scattered all over the floor. Beiming Shaoxi froze in his tracks, and the entire tavern was dead silent.

Ji Anan, shell-shocked, had a blank expression on her face.

“Young Master Beiming, are you alright?” Upon hearing the commotion from the brawl, the manager had rushed over just in time to witness the scene.

‘Young Master Beiming?’

Young Master Mu was even more astonished, and his entire body started to tremble.

In S City, the Beiming family’s prominence was second to none.

“I must have been blind not to recognize Young Master Beiming…”

Mu Shao lost all of his pride, and with a thud, he fell to the ground in terror.

Beiming Shaoxi felt at the back of his head with his hand and received a handful of dripping blood.

“You were hit by the hot lady. It had nothing to do with me.” Mu Shao quickly diverted the blame from himself.

Beiming Shaoxi turned around, and his glacial eyes stared right at Ji Anan.

She opened her eyes wide, lifted up her dress, and resisted the urge to kick Young Master Mu. “Go away!”

“We’re all going away.”

Young Master Mu shrunk into a ball and literally started to roll away. “Young Master Beiming, I’ll deliver my apology in person some other day…”

All the bodyguards followed their master’s lead and rolled on the floor in different directions.

Ji Anan’s palms were sweating. She stared at Beiming Shaoxi’s impassive face and winked coquettishly. “Are you alright? I didn’t do it on purpose.”

“…”

“Your head is bleeding… Your forehead is bleeding, as well…”

Ji Anan regretted what she had done. Why had she had to bring herself trouble by bashing him in the head with a vase?

How much would this accident cost her? This rental cost of this gown already threatened to empty her bank account.

“Do you want me to call an ambulance right now?”

“There’s no need.”

“You’re so kind… May the lord bless you. Bye, I’m leaving—”

Ji Anan frantically tried to leave, but he suddenly grabbed her small wrist.

She didn’t want to entangle herself anymore with Beiming Shaoxi. If her true identity was exposed, then she would be stuck with this nuisance for her entire life.

“Let me just say this: you are the one that suddenly popped out of nowhere to help me. I didn’t ask for your help. I threw the vase to hit the bad guy, but your big head blocked me…”

Beiming Shaoxi raised his thick brows. His head was too big?

“I’m only a poor pianist. You’re dressed rather nicely, so you probably have the money to get yourself examined, right?”

“…”

“Also, don’t think just because you saved me that I’ll be so grateful as to sell my body just to thank you. There’s no way, okay? Can you let go of my hand?” Ji Anan tried to yank her hand away, desperately wanting to avoid getting involved with him.

The world was so big. Why did she bump into him wherever she went? As long as she refused to acknowledge that she knew him, everything would be alright!
