Chapter 58: That Idiot Yechen Was Also Caught in the Pouring Rain

Beiming Yechen glanced at her puffy feathered dress.

Due to her extraordinary beauty, he worried that she wouldn’t be safe on the streets by herself at night, but he had more urgent matters at hand!

After stopping at the curb, Beiming Yechen flagged down a taxi. “Please take her to her destination safely.”

Her tone and mannerisms were exactly the same as the ones Ji Anan had displayed.

He could understand why Beiming Shaoxi was so captivated by her. He could barely restrain himself, and it took all his self-control not to glance at her on the ride there.

What was so impressive about being gorgeous? Was she as interesting as his little country bumpkin?

“Thank you, bye-bye.” After seeing him pay, Ji Anan waved at him like a beckoning cat.

Beiming Yechen stood in the wind for a few minutes. If it weren’t for the fact that the two of them had extremely different physical appearances, he would have thought that she had been possessed by the little country bumpkin…

It started raining at midnight.

Ji Anan took the cab all the way back to the Beiming manor. Nanny Porti, along with a couple of maids, were there to greet her.

“My lady, why have you returned so late? The old master thought something had happened to you, and he had a huge argument with the young master.”

Ji Anan pursed her lips upon hearing this blatant lie. She knew that in reality, the old master had been enraged that Beiming Shaoxi had brought a mistress home, so how was that any of her business?

“The eldest young master and the second young master went out looking for you in the pouring rain!”

“That idiot Yechen hasn’t returned yet?”

“I’ll call him right this moment and tell him that you’ve come back.”

Ji Anan went to the bedroom to take a shower and tied a silk scarf around her arm to hide the wound.

Since her nightgown was long-sleeved, it concealed her wound so that he probably wouldn’t notice it.

Beiming Shaoxi had a new darling, so he had no time for her! If it weren’t for the fact that Grandfather had kicked him out, he wouldn’t have even gone looking for her!

Ji Anan thought about this resentfully, then used her fingers to write on the misty glass window.

She opened the door and walked out, but unexpectedly saw a person sitting on the tall chair next to the floor-to-ceiling window.

With a wine glass in his hand, Beiming Shaoxi’s face was drawn tightly, and his cerulean blue eyes stared at her sullenly.

His entire body was soaking wet, his hair was a complete mess, and water dripped down from his drenched suit to spread all over the floor.

The bottle of whiskey only had a third of its contents left, and the air reeked with the heavy scent of alcohol.

Ji Anan couldn’t resist giving him a huge eye-roll.

He had a head injury, yet he ran out into the rain? He was injured yet was drinking liquor?

Idiot!

When she thought about his betrayal that night, she didn’t show him any sympathy.

With routine familiarity, she took out a fur coat and placed it on the sofa.

Had that idiot Yechen also been caught in the pouring rain?

She drowsily turned her body sideways and picked up her phone to send him a text message, then drifted back to sleep again.
