Freya looked at Ashley and said in a serious tone, “Yes? I am having dinner with my friend.”
Gideon’s tone was filled with disbelief as he asked, “Dinner?”

Freya pondered. Was there anything wrong with eating dinner?

Since it seemed perfectly normal, she replied to the man, “That is right. I am in the middle of dinner now.”
“Come back to Bay View Garden this instant.”

Gideon hung up the phone the moment he finished his sentence.

Freya looked at Ashley at a loss. “He told me to go back and did not say it very nicely.”

“Huh? Isn’t Mr. Carter the most popular man among women in town? Why is he so uncivilized?”

“Then again, he always does it.”

“Does he hate you that much?”

“What do you think? He is capable and gorgeous but ended up marrying a woman he had never seen in his life. It is only natural for him to dislike me. I can totally understand.”
Ashley looked at Freya as she placed some fish in her bowl. She shook her head and said, “I think you must be defending him because you have Stockholm syndrome.”
She looked at the food on the table. “Are you going to continue eating?”

Ashley’s last sentence kept echoing in Freya’s mind. Her eyes lit up and she suddenly raised her head. “Oh gosh. I am dead meat.”

“Why?”

“He is probably alone at home with nothing to eat, but I told him I was out having dinner. No wonder he had a fit!”

“Does this mean you are going home to cook dinner for him?”

Freya did not answer Ashley and simply bent over to take her bag and leave.

Ashley stood up as well. She took off her jacket and handed it to Freya as she beamed. “I’ll keep the jacket with Jerry’s autograph. You can have this one instead.”
Freya glanced at Ashley.

Ashley tilted her head sideways. “You usually do not lie. I don’t care how you got your hands on it as long as it is authentic.”

Freya had no time to spare talking to her. She took the jacket, put it on quickly, and headed for the exit.

Ashley called out after her. “Why don’t you pack up the food and bring it home for him?”

Freya was on the brink of tears. “How could you suggest giving him the leftovers? Do you really wanna kill me?”

Even though Freya was afraid of the man, she got back to the villa 30 minutes later.
She pressed in the passcode for the door and checked out the living room as she put on her slippers.

The light in the living room was on and the man was sitting on the couch giving off a dignified aura.

After Freya put on the slippers, she walked over and noticed how annoyed he was.

He was clearly very angry.

Freya walked over and stood in front of him. Then, she pointed at the kitchen and said, “I will make you dinner now. It won’t take long. Just give me a minute.”

Gideon looked up and stared at her deeply.

Freya chuckled sheepishly and went to the kitchen when she noticed his silence.

She checked in the refrigerator and found noodles, green peppers, tomatoes, and some vegetables, and so she decided to make him some noodles.

‘When she washed the ingredients, she accidentally dropped a spoon making a loud clang.

The moment the man heard it, he frowned in displeasure.

Freya came walking out with a piping hot bowl of noodles ten minutes later. She placed it in front of the man and said happily, “Mr. Carter, I made you noodles. My father always said that it was my best dish. Why don’t you have some?”

Gideon looked at her coldly before he said, “I am not your father..”
