Chapter 534: Chapter 533 Chapter 534: Chapter 533 Peter Olsen sized up Susan Simpson from head to toe and was about to speak when her eyes reddened, “Peter, do you suspect me too? After two years together, you actually don’t believe me? I saved your life back then, almost lost mine for you, and yet you still don’t trust me?”
Her eyes welled up in grievance.
Peter Olsen immediately softened, “No, it’s not like that… don’t be like this…”
Susan Simpson turned aside, “If you don’t trust me, then let’s not get married!”
After Susan Simpson finished speaking, she turned around and walked out the door, looking dejected.
Peter Olsen, anxious, looked back and saw Mary Davis and Ellis Olsen being escorted out by firefighters. Seeing that the two weren’t seriously hurt, he immediately ran after Susan Simpson.
The crowd, however, was less concerned with their behavior and more focused on greeting Ellis Olsen and Mary Davis.
Mary Davis was still in her pajamas, her belly slightly protruding at three months, but her figure was good, and if you didn’t look closely, you wouldn’t even notice.
She must have come into contact with something scorched when she first came out, as a bit of ash smudged her white clothes.
Ellis Olsen looked much more disheveled than her.
His suit was torn and burnt in several places. His face was sooty, and his arm had a burn that was already bandaged.
But his expression was one of pleasure.
Adversity reveals true feelings.
When the South Family Villa caught fire, Ellis Olsen charged into the blaze. The fire spread quickly, and black smoke was everywhere. Covering his nose and mouth, he dashed to the second floor, to Mary Davis’s room.
The door was shut. He knocked and yelled from outside, but it wouldn’t open.
Finally, with no other choice, he kicked the door down and burst in to rescue Mary Davis, only to find the room empty!
The bedding had caught fire, but there was no one there.
But the bedroom door had clearly been locked from the inside… He rushed into the bathroom and still couldn’t see Mary. He began shouting her name around the room.
Just then, the wardrobe in the room moved, and soon a door opened. Mary Davis ran out anxiously, looking at Ellis Olsen, “How did you get in?”
Ellis Olsen, stunned upon seeing her, simply replied, “I came… to save you.”
He looked at the wardrobe that she had emerged from, clearly made of metal, it wouldn’t burn…
He immediately asked, “Is there a hidden passage?”
Mary Davis nodded, covering her mouth, and shouted through the fire, “Hurry up and come here, let’s hide in the basement!”
Ellis Olsen nodded at once and ran out from the bathroom.
But at that very moment, he clearly saw a burning stick falling from above, heading straight for Mary!
Ellis Olsen, without a second to think, instinctively extended his arm, deflecting the stick away but sustaining an injury in the process.
However, he didn’t have time to check his injury and hurried to Mary’s side to ask, “Are you okay? You hid, yet came out again–it’s too dangerous here! Why would you come back?”
Mary almost rolled her eyes at him, “If I didn’t come back, what would you have done?”
The fire in the villa was very strange; it went from small flames to a raging inferno in a minute, leaving no chance to escape. Luckily Mary seemed to have heard something and had a gut feeling to come up and check. Otherwise, she didn’t even dare to think…
She grabbed Ellis Olsen’s hand, “Quick, follow me!”
The two entered the hidden passageway and closed the heavy iron door behind them.
The corridor was all steel, heat-insulated, but there wasn’t much oxygen. They quickly arrived at a large basement with even a bed…
Ellis Olsen looked around and couldn’t help asking, “Did I… do something unnecessary?”
Mary rolled her eyes, picked up a medical kit, and approached him, “Lift your shirt.”
Ellis Olsen obediently sat down and revealed his burned arm, lined with blisters that looked very severe.
Mary looked at it, her heart aching, “Didn’t you think to call first before rushing in so recklessly? What if I wasn’t here; wouldn’t you have burned to death?”
Ellis Olsen cast his eyes down, “I’ve been outside the whole time, watching the fire blaze. How could I have the presence of mind to call? Besides, you hadn’t come out yet; I was watching.”
Mary was slightly stunned, “Didn’t I tell you to leave? You stayed outside?”
“Mhm.”
Ellis Olsen didn’t explain much, afraid of pressuring her. He looked at Mary Davis: “I just want to be closer to you.”
Mary Davis’s motion of applying medicine paused slightly: “Why bother?”
Ellis Olsen then spoke up: “I misunderstood you before, it was all my fault. You refuse to forgive me, which is to be expected. But I really, don’t want to lose you.”
Mary Davis was stunned, slowly raising her head, her eyes slightly moist.
In life and death, true feelings reveal themselves. Ellis Olsen wasn’t even sure she was definitely in the villa, he just didn’t see her leave, and without regard for his own life, he rushed in to save her – how could it not have moved her?
Ellis Olsen noticed her softening and immediately grabbed her hand: “Mary, can you, give me another chance?”
Mary Davis lowered her head: “We’ll see.”
She continued to apply medicine to his wound.
Although she hadn’t agreed, she had already softened quite a bit.
…
Thinking of these matters, Ellis Olsen looked towards Mary Davis again, his eyes brimming with light.
He directly spoke: “Mary, the South Family’s house has been burned down, and you and Keera have nowhere to live for the time being. Why not come stay at home for now?”
Mary Davis gave him a sharp look, then turned to Keira Olsen: “Keera, where shall we stay?”
How could Keira Olsen not perceive the subtle change between the two?
If her friend was adamant about not forgiving her older brother, she would definitely not put her in a difficult position.
But if Mary Davis’s heart had already softened, she would naturally act as the peacemaker.
Both James Olsen and Charles Olsen’s eyes lit up:
“Sis, come stay at home, alright?”
“Yeah, your room, Uncle Three has prepared it for you a long time ago! It’s really spacious, you and Amy can stay there, guaranteed no problem!”
Keira Olsen stroked her chin, frowned and, after causing Ellis Olsen to become very anxious, she finally spoke: “Alright, let’s go back to the Olsen Family.”
“Fantastic!”
A group of people jumped up excitedly.
A little while later, James Olsen suddenly fell silent again, then said: “Hey, sis, if you really can’t stand Susan Simpson, just have Little Five move out.”
Keira Olsen, however, smiled with a curled lip: “No need.”
She was moving into the Olsen Family’s home for two reasons: first, to foster relationships with her brothers, and second, to keep an eye on Susan Simpson!!
Did they really think Susan Simpson had her every move under control?
Keira Olsen’s lips slightly curved as she picked up her Bluetooth earpiece and put it in her ear.
Immediately, she heard Susan Simpson’s walking and breathing sounds through the earpiece.
Keira Olsen’s eyes lowered.
Today, after hacking into her phone, although she found those photos with the young boy, Keira Olsen still felt that everything was going too smoothly.
This might be another of Fox’s schemes…
Of course, she had to turn the tables, hence why she took out the photos later, giving Susan Simpson a reason to attack her.
Everything seemed vulnerable, but in reality!
Keira Olsen had quietly planted a virus in her phone; Susan Simpson’s phone has become her surveillance device!
Susan Simpson wasn’t the Fox – Fox’s methods surely weren’t this low. So, she must be one of Fox’s pawns!
Just keep watching her, and sooner or later Fox’s traces would be revealed.
Sure enough, she heard Susan Simpson lower her voice: “Report to Fox, the mission failed.”
Keira Olsen’s pupils contracted.
Fox, had finally shown its tail!
