Gu Junzhu felt the boy’s tiny face with his hand. “Baby Xiao Shu is very handsome too!”

Upon hearing Dad call him ‘baby’, little Ye Yiyang’s eyes curved from smiling. Then, he cupped his own face while asking, “Does Dad like Xiao Shu?”

Gu Junzhu replied, “Of course, I do!”

It was human instinct to like smart and pretty children for the sake of successful reproduction.

If someone didn’t like a beautiful and clever child like Xiao Shumiao, that person must not be human!

Little Ye Yiyang was overjoyed. “Dad, Mommy said that you didn’t call Xiao Shu and her because Dad’s workplace was very strict—they didn’t allow you to make a phone call to your family!”

“Mommy was right!” Gu Junzhu glanced at Ye Xingbei. He thought about how she must’ve put a lot of thought into her lies, given how she had cooked up an unusual vocation for Xiao Shu’s non-existent father.

Indeed, there were several professions which didn’t allow people to contact their family members while they were in the middle of their job.

Little Ye Yiyang quickly became talkative. A switch seemed to have been turned on inside of him as he started to ask a hundred thousand ‘whys’ in his chatterbox mode. “Dad, is your workplace very exhausting?”

“Yes, it is hard!” Nodding his head, he smiled in reply, “But, it’s very fulfilling and meaningful.”

“Dad, are the uncles who work with you especially awesome? Can they climb large buildings with their bare hands like Spiderman?”

Gu Junzhu, “… They are slightly lacking compared to Spiderman but with the help of specialized equipment, they can accomplish it indeed.”

Didn’t Spiderman need to use spiderwebs too? Are ordinary people not allowed to use ropes instead of spider webs?

“Then, Dad… Can you scale a building with your bare hands?”
