Chapter 50: The Uncertain Trident

The morning sun shone into Ke Meng’s room. He opened his eyes slowly. He waited for a little while before he realized that he had returned to reality.

He did not feel like moving now that he had returned to his bed after living in the ocean for a couple of hours to sense someone else’s dream while busy responding to the Stone People’s sacrificial ceremony.

Being Boss Ke and human were two greatly different feelings.

What exactly different was that he sensed more things and thought more in his head when he was Boss Ke.

It was like a computer with 4 cores and 8 threads processor suddenly upgraded to a 32 cores and 64 threads processor. The parallel processing capability would increase by folds.

No, the feeling was far from that. It was a bigger feeling and a feeling of transcendence.

The strange fish was 30 centimeters long. It had strange scales on it, while there were water ripple patterns on the scales.

Ke Meng felt like he was possessed after looking at it for a little bit. He seemed to see his face on the fish.

The more he looked, the more he was terrified. He felt chilliness on his back.

He tried moving his body to leave. However, his body was frozen. He could not move at all.

As if the dead fish’s scales had his face pressed on it, where Ke Meng could not move.

He knew something was wrong. The trident did not have any fish pierced on it when it had dropped into the puddle. Now there was an unknown fish from a foreign world. There were just too many uncertainties on the items the believers sacrificed. See, he fell into a trap from merely looking at it.

He looked toward another direction forcefully instead of looking at the scales.

He called out with his deep voice. Although his tone was soft, Glutinous Ball, and he shared a close connection, so it understood him instantly.

It rolled over and stopped between its master and the trident to block his vision.

That finally unfroze Ke Meng’s body. The terrifying feeling that made his scalp numb dropped immediately.

It proved that Ke Meng went through another mental disturbance earlier.

His Resistance had increased to 2.3 now.

Ke Meng had no idea how powerful Resistance’s function was. Now that he thought about it, 2.3 Resistance seemed to be pretty powerful. Otherwise, he might not have been able to even look away.

He got Glutinous Ball to block his vision and fed the cat dried anchovy. He stared into the big-faced cat’s round and big eyes while feeling.

It was magical and scary at the same time.

Fortunately, Glutinous Ball had higher resistance than he did. It had instantly rolled over to block his vision obediently.

In reality, it would notice something wrong after some time had passed even if Ke Meng had insufficient Resistance. It would roll over to save its master right away.

Ke Meng got a piece of cloth and got Glutinous Ball to cover the black fish’s scales.

“Woof!” Glutinous Ball indicated it had covered it.

Ke Meng turned his head to look. A white cloth was covering the fish’s body. He finally shook off the scary frozen feeling all over his body.

That thing was really terrifying.

Ke Meng had already guessed that not all items the evil god’s believers sacrificed were safe.

This had accidentally verified his thought. A pure item without any ill-intention had accidentally pierced a strange fish that had been swimming somewhere with its special ability. Ke Meng had been trapped as soon as he looked at it—that was creepy!

Also, due to the restriction, the Resistance his system gifted became even more precious.

He would not be able to handle more in the future if he had insufficient Resistance.

Ke Meng checked his mission list first and looked at the progress bar.

He was getting there. He would accomplish the normal mission when 9,000 more people watched the video. By then, he would gain 2 Resistance points.

However, Ke Meng thought it was not good enough.

How could it just give him merely 2 Resistance points gain each time?

It would be great if there was a way to gain over 10 or up to 100 points at once.
