Chapter 51: Glutinous Ball’s Highlights

The convenience store downstairs was opened for business as usual. What happened yesterday did not affect their life at all.

Chen Momo sent the breakfast Ke Meng ordered a cup of soy milk and fried dough fritter, to his door.

Knock, knock.

He saw her in a blue face mask holding two packets of breakfast when he opened the door. She walked into the house while bouncing her ponytail braid lightly.

“Are the two ants still here?” Chen Momo asked.

“They’re still here, they didn’t escape.” Ke Meng shook his head. “They’re stuck and can’t leave their bodies.”

Momo pulled a chair over and took her seat. She looked around the living room casually as she ate.

“Where did that big plush toy of yours go?”

“Oh, that thing,” Ke Meng figured there was no need for him to hide the truth about Glutinous Ball any longer since the country already knew about it.

“Glutinous Ball!” Ke Meng yelled. The room door opened automatically. A round, fluffy ball squeezed out of the room and rolled to the living room slowly.

Chen Momo opened her mouth wide in shock. She took a bite of the fried dough fritter hard.

She munched, and the fritter’s chewiness was the same. She was not dreaming.

The fluffy plush toy could suddenly move now. She thought it was creepy.

However, since she saw shadows that could move and ants that could write yesterday, Chen Momo was more open-minded now. She only thought it was a little scary. Since Ke Meng was calling it Glutinous Ball, it should be something safe.

“Why didn’t you tell me that it could move before?!” Chen Momo stared at Ke Meng in resentment.

“Well, you didn’t ask.” Naturally, Ke Meng lied about that instead of telling Chen Momo he was worried about shattering her worldview.

Judging by the current situation, the Koi Continent kept secrets from the citizens. They had yet to announce the existence of strange items on a big scale.

However, Captain Luo had said that it was not good to hide from the public. They might explain that to the citizens in the future.

The review videos Ke Meng posted would be considered as a warmup.

“So the cat, camera, and that strange toothbrush you reviewed last time were strange items too?” Chen Momo sucked on a yellow straw and drank a mouthful of pale white soybean milk.

“The camera isn’t. The cat is one, the liquid black honey is too, while the toothbrush was the item that was affected by the honey,” Ke Meng said.

Chen Momo had seen those items in the videos. Although she had never seen the real thing before, it would make her suspicious if Ke Meng did not tell the truth now.

If she had not encountered the shadows that could move, she would not have believed in Ke Meng’s nonsense. However, she believed it now.

“Can you show it to me then?” Chen Momo said curiously.

She thought the cat that looked so silly was just an exquisite 3D model. Never had she thought there was really a silly cat in real life.

However, she did not ask where Ke Meng got those strange items. Everyone had secrets, and it would be annoying for one to get to the very bottom of it. She was only asking about the items that had appeared in the videos. She had seen the videos, so it should be okay for her to see them in real life.

“Sure.” Ke Meng did not hesitate at all as it was not troubling.

Soon, Chen Momo walked into Ke Meng’s bedroom for the very first time.

She looked around the setting first. It was a surprise that the room was neat.

A white-haired cat was sitting in a cat basin. It had both legs on the sides of its fat waist. It looked blank, while the whiskers on its face were shining in the sunlight.

“Wow, it looks exactly the same as the video,” Chen Momo squatted down, curiosity filled her face. However, she did not touch the cat with her hand.

Glutinous Ball squeezed in too. Although it was big, it was very agile as it moved by rolling.

While Chen Momo was observing the big-faced cat curiously, Ke Meng logged onto B Site to look at his review video.

“Pet Review – Strange Review 2”

Ke Meng stood on a field in the video opening, introducing the review he was doing today to the viewers.

“My friend from Ezhou gave me a pet recently. It’s huge, and very round, too. Its body is filled with hair. Let’s check out what’s the new pet’s unusual characteristics today.”

Chen Momo, who was squatting down, heard the noise coming from the phone. She was intrigued. She stopped checking out the cat and pulled a chair over to look at Ke Meng’s new video.

The big-faced cat was neglected now. However, there was no change of expression on its face at all. After all, it had stopped thinking since the beginning.

The round Glutinous Ball rolled behind Ke Meng’s chair upon hearing its master’s voice. It was watching the video too.

When Ke Meng introduced Glutinous Ball in the video, it barked twice to show its pride.

Chen Momo heard the familiar barking.

‘Isn’t that dog barking?’

She was confused now.

Meanwhile, the netizens’ teasing floated by in the bullet comments while the video was playing.

“Here he goes again. His classic opening about his friend.”

“Your friend who doesn’t exist?”

“It’s the same friend who gave you the big-faced cat last time? Wow, I want a friend like that too.”

“Full speed ahead, the pet can transform!”

In the next second, Glutinous Ball’s body expanded under Ke Meng’s command. Its round body disappeared. It was replaced by canine limbs, a fluffy dog tail, and big eyes.

“Oh my god, it really transformed by command!”

“Your special effect is getting insane each time, sir. I’d like to learn from you.”

“Even its shadow is so real. The uploader pours his heart into making videos. I’m in love!”

Chen Momo had not watched this video last night. Now that she saw the netizens’ bullet comments, she was shocked by Glutinous Ball’s transformation ability. She said while smiling, “They don’t know it’s real.”

She turned her head and patted Glutinous Ball’s hair after speaking. The hair was very soft, not hard at all.

“Woof!” Glutinous Ball barked in pride.

A bang came from the video as Glutinous Ball slammed and broke a tree. The top half of the tree fell slowly. Dust flew from the ground when the tree fell. It was very real.

Many netizens commented ‘Amazing’ in the bullet comments. Everyone was stunned by the huge pet’s combat strength. They learned something new about a pet.

“Our understanding of pets seems to be a little different?”

“The uploader is out of ideas. The production fee is getting high. Haha.”

The netizens were satisfied watching the pet transform and break the tree. The bullet comments were the peak of the video.

It was Ke Meng’s turn to tease at the end of the video, “Transformation isn’t its most important ability just because it’s big. Its main job is helping with house chores.”

The video cut to the scene where Glutinous Ball used its long dog hair to control the broom, mop, and wiping cloth. It was rolling on the floor while its hair strands were taking turns to hold the items. None of the three items fell on the floor, and they rolled with Glutinous Ball.

“I’m dead.”

“So this is the correct way to use a pet? I’ve died laughing!”

“I get it now. I’ll teach my pet to do house chores later.”

“Glutinous Ball: My life is so hard. I’m just a pet.”

Glutinous Ball, which was behind the both of them, could not read. It thought Chen Momo was complimenting it due to her bell-like laughter.

“Woof, woof!” Glutinous Ball barked happily and continuously, showing off its competence.
