Chapter 23: Mysterious Woman

Now that the target had appeared, Mark realized that the woman hiding in the alley was not in a hurry to move. Instead, she was observing the movements of the shadows.

At the top of the tower, Mark no longer had so much patience. He quietly crept around the woman.

He waited for the black man to make a move!

Since it was a dark attribute shadow, light attribute was its absolute counter.

The monster hiding in the woman’s shadow was already restless and quickly expanded its shadow.

It was preparing to attack this woman!

Not far away, Mark immediately released a ball of light and threw it at the black figure.

This strike directly revealed the black figure behind the woman. It was actually a humanoid Shadow Demon!

The Shadow Demon looked at Mark from the roof and roared at him.

The voice was as unpleasant as it could be. After shouting, it did not give up on its goal and reached out to grab the woman in front of it.

Seeing this, Mark immediately used Light Blessing on his longsword that was already chipped, and then directly used several support spells.

With lightning speed, he attacked the Shadow Demon.

This strike directly cut off its hand that was reaching for the woman.

The woman, whose legs had turned soft from fear, sat on the ground. She was already peeing under her skirt.

The hand of the Shadow Demon was cut off by Mark and it immediately fled underground.

At this moment, a black figure extended and imprisoned the escaping Shadow Demon.

Through the shadows on the ground, Mark could see the Shadow Demon struggling madly, but it was all in vain.

After trapping the Shadow Demon, the woman in the corner of the alley had unknowingly appeared beside Mark.

She held a bag in her hand and threw it at the Shadow Demon.

After this gray cloth bag flew out, it covered the Shadow Demon.

The woman walked over, grabbed with both hands, and placed it in the bag.

Everything went smoothly.

After all of this was over, this mysterious woman used a very pleasant voice to say to Mark, “Come with me!”

Then, she jumped towards the roof and prepared to leave.

Glancing at the woman sitting there, Mark said to her, “It’s okay. Go back quickly!”

Then, he turned and followed the mysterious woman.

The two arrived at a very quiet forest and stopped.

The woman patted the moving bag a few times and hung it at her waist.

“It’s really thanks to your help that I could successfully capture this Shadow Demon!”

At this moment, Mark still had many questions to ask, but he did not know where to start!

Seeing Mark’s conflicted expression, the mysterious woman removed the hood of her head, revealing a very beautiful face and snow-white hair.

“My name is Aisha, and I’m a Shadow Mage!”

“After hearing about this in the capital, I went to follow this Shadow Demon for a long time. Today, I finally captured it!”

Under the moonlight, Aisha’s smile was very beautiful. Mark was mesmerized by her beautiful face!

After staring blankly for a few seconds, Mark immediately introduced himself, “I was rude!”

“My name is Mark. I’m a student of the Empire Magic Academy. I received this mission from the Empire’s Garrison Guards, so I came to investigate this matter!”

Hearing Mark suddenly say everything, Aisha immediately covered her face and smiled.

‘This man is really interesting. I haven’t seen such a shy man in a long time!’

“Now that my mission is completed and so is yours, let’s meet again in the future!” With that, she put on the cloak and left.

“Wait!”

“I still have something to ask you!”

“Where did these people who were captured by the Shadow Demon go?!” Seeing that the other party was about to leave, Mark hurriedly asked.

Upon hearing this, Aisha revealed a very regretful expression and explained, “The human captured by the Shadow Demon had already entered its stomach the moment it was brought out of the city.”

“If it were a human with superior martial arts, he might be able to break free!”

“But it’s very smart. It only captured ordinary humans, so there’s no chance of survival!”

With that, he turned and disappeared into the forest.

After Aisha disappeared from his perception range, Mark took out his communication device and reported this to the Garrison Guard Station.

At the beginning, the Garrison Guards did not believe that this matter could be resolved so easily.

As time passed, a week quickly went by. No one else disappeared from the commoner’s area, so the Garrison Guards paid him the bonus.

It was already seven in the morning when he returned home. Mark glanced at the time on his communication device and knew that he could no longer participate in the class today.

Before going back to sleep, he went to the usual breakfast shop to eat.

After sitting down, the tall figure appeared in front of him again.

“Morning, Nelson.”

Seeing Mark, Nelson smiled at him and sat down opposite him.

“I heard from the Garrison Guards that you have been very active recently!” With that, he looked at Mark’s tired face.

He added, “Did you do another mission last night?”

Hearing this, Mark yawned.

He replied, “Yes! At dawn today, we dealt with the culprit who caused the disappearance of the commoners!”

Hearing this, Nelson was very surprised. He had not expected the trouble to be resolved so quickly!

“Can you tell me what happened?”

While breakfast was coming, Mark told him everything that had happened last night, but he did not mention Aisha.

“Is that so? It’s the demons again.”

“Looks like I have to go back and talk to my father about the demons!”

After breakfast, the two separated.

Because Mark had been busy the entire night, he could not attend class. Therefore, he said goodbye to Nelson and returned to his dorm to sleep.

In the academy, as soon as class ended, a few men from Class A aggressively went to Class S to find Mark.

But when they realized that Mark’s seat was empty, they roared and left.

Although these people wanted to behave atrociously, the identities of the students in Class S were really not to be trifled with. These people did not dare to do anything and just left helplessly.

Seeing this scene, Nelson frowned!

He stood up and followed behind these people, secretly observing them and not disturbing them.

“Mark hasn’t even been to the class a few times. He shouldn’t be so hated!”

With that, he turned and left, returning to the last row of Class S.
