Chapter 28: What Happened to Gerrard

The next day, when the first rays of the sun shone in the room, Adams was up.

Adams poured himself a cup of the expensive coffee he had bought the day before. He washed up briefly and drank the coffee in one gulp.

Then he lit up a cigarette and took a long drag.

The flash had blinded him after it dissipated. He left the house to hail a cab.

He didn’t think much of it, but he decided to go to school today.

He walked over to the front of the class and sat down in his chair.

Jessica entered the room a short while later.

She exchanged looks with Adams, then blushed and avoided his gaze.

After what had happened the previous night, she still didn’t know how to face Adams.

After a while, Peter walked in as well.

When he saw Adams, he immediately shouted excitedly:

“Adams! Guess what happened yesterday!”

Adams was speechless.

“Let me guess. Maybe I quarreled with the invigilator? There was a brainless guy who was there, but he seemed to have forgotten about it today.”

“F*ck! Adams, I’m not talking about this!”

Peter was so angry that he shouted, and then he said quickly, “However, this matter does seem to have something to do with you.”

Adams raised his eyebrows. He had a vague idea of what had happened, but he still asked, “It has something to do with me? Then what is it?”

“I think I was the only one who argued with the invigilator yesterday. I left after he apologized. I don’t know what else happened.”

Adams’ tone was very innocent. He directly brushed aside everything that had happened between him and the invigilator.

“You’re right, Buddy.”

Peter thought for a moment and found that this matter indeed had nothing to do with Adams.

“But I still have to say, yesterday morning, do you still remember Gerrard at the school gate?”

Adams smiled in his heart. It was indeed about this matter.

But he put on a puzzled expression and asked Peter, “Gerrard? Of course I remember. That kid showed off his wealth in front of us, then he got into the car with two girls and drove around the school gate to show off. I was so angry yesterday. How could I not remember him? Why? What happened to him?”

“F*ck! It’s that kid!”

Peter ran to the table, and a lot of words came out of his mouth:

“When that kid was flaunting his wealth in front of me, I wanted to pull him over and beat him up!”

“But you know, fighting at the school gate is not good, so I let him go yesterday.”

“But when he got into the car with the two girls and left, I made a wish to God in my heart, begging him to get into a car accident and kill that kid!”

“But yesterday, God heard my call! This kid really got his comeuppance!” Peter said while his eyes were still emitting a devout light.

“No, Peter.”

Adams shrugged helplessly and said to Peter, “If God really exists, then he wouldn’t respond to your rude request.”

“And compared to God, I’m more worried about what happened to Gerrard and the two girls.”

The expression on Adams’ face at this time was that of a good man who was worried about the safety of his classmates.

“F*ck! Adams, he mocked you yesterday, and you’re still thinking about him?!”

“After all, we’re all classmates. I certainly don’t want anything to happen to them.”

Adams sneered in his heart. Of course, he didn’t care about the lives of those three idiots. He just wanted to try his best to distance himself from this matter.

The caring expression on his face, in the eyes of the other students, coincidentally proved that he had nothing to do with this matter.

“Sigh, alright.”

Peter sighed. He really couldn’t stand this kind personality of Adams.

The other students who were listening to their conversation and had figured out what had happened also felt that Adams was too kind.

They had no idea that they had been deceived by Adams’ kind mask.

“They were too proud at that time. They directly crashed into the wall.”

“The front of the car was directly knocked into half. It was a terrible scene.”

“A buddy posted a few pictures of the scene in the communication group. Even the wheels of the car were sent flying dozens of meters away,” Peter said while pretending to be afraid.

“Where is that guy? How is he?”

A classmate who was listening to Peter curiously asked. This was also the question that everyone was most concerned about.

“That guy Gerrard was carried into the ICU on the spot.”

“He has been saved for a day and a night. He is still in danger.”

“I heard that even if he is cured, he might be in a vegetative state.”

Peter spread his hands and looked helpless.

Even if he had cursed Gerrard and the others to get into a car accident, now that it had really happened and was so serious, he could not be happy.

“Then, what about the other two girls?” another student asked.

“Because the two girls were sitting in the back seat, nothing serious happened.”

Peter took a sip of Coke and continued, “But it was not a small matter. At least they will have to lie in the hospital for a few months.”

“They should be glad because at that time, the two of them were still fighting over the front passenger seat.”

“They almost fought over it. The final decision was that neither of them would sit in the front passenger seat.”

“Otherwise, Gerrard’s intensive care unit might have one more neighbor.”

“Or there might be another sleeping soul in the cemetery.”

Peter shrugged, his tone carrying a hint of black humor.
