Chapter 31: Cobra, Mantis, Crow

“Is it poisonous? Or is it extremely poisonous?”

The boss sized up Adams from head to toe. It was as though he was officially treating Adams from now on.

“What did you buy it for?” the boss asked Adams.

“It’s my personal interest. I’ve liked all kinds of poisonous creatures since I was young.”

Adams was lying through his teeth. Anyone who heard him would know that he was lying.

The Boss put on his monocle again and said to Adams, “Please follow me, Sir.”

Then, he led Adams to the second floor of the shop. After passing through a corridor, they stopped in front of a room.

The owner took out a key, unlocked the door, and led Adams inside.

When Adams entered the room, the smell of disinfectant mixed with the stench of various animals made him cover his nose.

The things in the room attracted Adams’ attention.

The room was filled with glass cabinets. There were all kinds of poisonous or illegal animals in the cabinets.

For example, poisonous snakes, spiders, lizards, centipedes, and even pangolins and monkeys.

“Is the boss running a zoo here?” Adams couldn’t help but make a joke.

“Hehehe, they don’t have these things in the zoo.”

The boss looked amiable and continued Adams’ words.

After all, he was a businessman, and amiability made money.

“May I ask which one you like, Sir? Please feel free to choose.”

“Let me take a look first.”

Adams shook his head and walked to the area where snakes were displayed.

“If it’s locked up with the other cobras, it will kill all the other cobras. This is unfair to the other snakes.”

The boss explained with a relaxed expression, echoing Adams’ joke.

“It’s that powerful?”

Adams scratched his head. He didn’t really know much about snakes.

Like the others, he was more afraid of snakes, so he naturally wouldn’t take the initiative to understand them.

He only knew rattlesnakes, cobras, king cobras, and other famous poisonous snakes.

They were almost the same anyway. They could poison people to death.

Adams pointed at the cobra that was being held in solitary confinement and said, “Boss, I’ll take this one. Pack it up for me.”

The boss went forward to deal with it. Soon, he put the cobra into a box and handed it to Adams.

Just as Adams was about to walk out of the second floor, he suddenly realized that there was a mantis in the window.
