Chapter 35: Why Can’t I Touch It

The little girl rubbed her face against the cat’s fluffy head. Her pink dress made her look like a blossoming flower that grew on the floor of Xu Ciye’s clinic.

The bright sunlight which entered the room through the French-style windows created a golden tint when he looked at the little girl, who was playing with the cat on the floor. Paired with the cool summer breeze, the entire experience felt like it was a work of art, crafted by the hands of God himself.

She exuded the true essence of an innocent Lolita, with twin tails resting behind her head as she cradled the white cat gently. Her smile was subtle and pure, a sight which could warm up even the coldest of hearts.

The moment felt fantastical.

It was so beautiful that it seemed surreal.

However, Xu Ciye wasn’t in the mood to soak in the beauty of the scene. Instead, his head felt like it was seconds away from splitting open!

‘Oh no!’

‘I’m really done for this time!’

‘If that unstable little brat sees his pet getting kissed all over by someone else, the little girl’s gonna be in danger!’

‘Where’s Lu Junhan when you need him the most!?’

Xu Ciye was very anxious.

Why did he leave at this exact moment to make a phone call?!

That little brat was very young, only seven years old, but the degree of his mental maturity was terrifying. He was monstrously smart and to make things worse, he belonged to an extremely influential family.

His tactics and strategies made many shrewd and experienced businessmen wet their pants and the level of his cruelty and malevolence rivaled that of Lu Junhan’s!

And unfortunately, he was involved in a car accident last year, which resulted in him being paralyzed waist-down. He could never stand again for the rest of his life, but his personality became much viler after that incident.

No one in the Capital City dared to provoke him.

If it wasn’t for the favor he owed to his mother, Xu Ciye would not have become his psychologist.

He wanted to live a good, long life after all.

Despite having undergone years of counseling, that little brat’s cruel and violent personality remains unchangeable. Xu Ciye on the other hand was on his wit’s end.

But if he told anyone about this, he’d be ruining his own reputation!

Every time when he came for counseling, that little brat would bring along this cat. And outsiders were strictly forbidden from touching his pet!

Xu Ciye felt as if he was about to die from despair upon seeing the cat, which was so closely-guarded by that brat being caressed and kissed constantly by Lu Li.

He subconsciously scanned his surroundings. He heaved a sigh in relief when it was clear that the brat, Pei Xiubai was still nowhere to be seen. Knowing that it still wasn’t too late, he said to Lu Li in an urgent tone, “Lili, let it go! Hurry up and let that cat go!”

As long as that little brat didn’t see Lu Li holding his cat, it was not the end.

Xu Ciye wanted to grab the cat away from Lu Li, but he was worried that the cat might get spooked and its razor-sharp claws might end up scratching her skin in the process.

If something happened to Lu Li, there was no need for Fei Xiubai to deal with him. Lu Junhan would have him chopped up into pieces as soon as he comes back!

Seeing how puzzled the little girl was, he crouched down and said to her slowly with a nervous expression, “You can’t touch this cat! Let it go, now.”

“But the kitty is very cute.”

The little girl tilted her head as she blinked her wide, large eyes cluelessly. “Why can’t I touch it?” she asked.

“Because this is a very fierce kitty. If you don’t let it go, it’ll bite you!”

Xu Ciye wasn’t lying. The cat hated being touched by humans other than Fei Xiubai. Most of the time time, it would act proud and noble. It would lay next to the window and snooze away as if it couldn’t be bothered to deal with anything other than sleeping.

If anyone reached down to touch it, it would allow you a pat or two if it was in a good mood. If it was in a bad mood, however, it would swipe its claws at you. When that happens, ending up with multiple scratches on your face could be considered a fairly light injury.

Its personality was the same as its master. Both were equally dislikable. It’s harmless and graceful appearance was just a facade. Deep down inside, it was a violent creature with a horrible temper.

Seeing how hesitant the little girl was, Xu Ciye made his tone sound urgent and fearful as if something terrible might happen if she didn’t let go of the cat.
