Luckily, everybody else present was focused on the project, and nobody noticed Gu Xi’s odd reaction.

Gu Shao looked over the documents that were provided to him before he commented neutrally, “The terms are decent, and the asks are reasonable. You had worked hard on this as the go-between, Mr. Qiao.”

Xu Fei, who had read through the key points on the documents, also nodded. The “Oceanic Transportation Monitoring System” was never meant to be a project with high profit. Being able to break even at this point would be quite good.

Qiao Luo had no doubt put a lot of work into bringing NTN’s profits up to this level.

Qiao Luo immediately put on a smile when he heard Gu Shao’s words and said openly, “I accepted this project for the sake of establishing a long-term relationship with you, Boss Gu. Naturally, I can’t let you lose money on this.

Besides, NTN also had with time certain amount of government influences in China. Qiao Luo’s main purpose this time was to establish long-term relationship with NTN. He could suck it up with Gu Shao’s conditions this one time.

“That won’t be a problem.” Qiao Luo accepted the conditions before he stood up and said to Gu Shao, “Thank you for your trust in me, Boss Gu.”

“Boss, the demonstration downstairs is ready.” A secretary walked inside and announced.

Gu Shao nodded and said to Qiao Luo. “Join me, Mr. Qiao.”

Qiao Luo smiled and nodded. “My pleasure.”

The few walked out of the meeting room.

Gu Shao noticed that something was missing next to him after he had taken a couple of steps. It was then when he noticed that Gu Xi was still sitting where she was, deep in thought with a frown.

Who was the one who eagerly wanted to tag along earlier?

Gu Shao grumbled to himself and he called out to Gu Xi helplessly.

“Huh?” Gu Xi came to when he heard Gu Shao calling out to her.

“We are leaving.”

“Hmm?”

“I thought you want to see the demonstration,” said Lu Shao.

That was when Gu Xi was reminded of her purpose of wanting to be there. She nodded in a daze, jogged over to Gu Shao, and followed him over to the 8th floor research room that was responsible for this project.

Gu Shao and Qiao Luo walked in the front and talked about the expansion of this project overseas and other arrangements. Gu Xi couldn’t understand their conversation and, as such, only followed quietly behind Gu Shao.

Walking next to Gu Xi was also Qiao Luo’s secretary.

Gu Xi couldn’t help but glanced over at Lisa a few more times.

As though noticing the looks coming from Gu Xi, Lisa turned toward Gu Xi and gave her a friendly smile.

Gu Xi, too, curved her lips upward some and gave her a smile, her brain working rapidly.

Recalling the earlier conversation between Gu Shao and Qiao Luo, her name seemed to be Lisa?

Gu Xi thought about the story arc in the original novel. There was nobody by the name of Lisa in it, and there was only one character who looked like Song Kexin……

Gu Xi thought about it some and finally, looking up at Lisa, she said, “Aunty Li.”

Hearing how Gu Xi had addressed her, Lisa was taken aback a little at first. And, when she figured out what she was saying, she busted out laughing.
