Chapter 248 – “Good, I’d like to meet him too.” (1)

Something occurred to Gu Xi the next second. She tucked at Gu Shao’s sleeve and asked, “What about Meng… I mean Aunt Lisa? Will she be there today as well?”

Gu Shao frowned a little all of a sudden when he heard Gu Xi’s question. He gave Gu Xi a profound look and noticed once again that Gu Xi was paying too much attention to Lisa.

“No, she won’t,” said Gu Shao.

“Oh, I see……” Gu Xi nodded. She only paid Lisa attention because she was Lin Yize’s important white moonlight. And the meeting between the male and female leads and this white moonlight was a very important part of the story.

Xu Fei, sitting in front, had no idea about any of these. He assumed that Gu Xi merely had a special fondness toward Lisa because of their contact previously. As such, he had turned around and explained to Gu Xi, “The meeting at the center today was mostly going to be on the product itself. Mr. Qiao’s team, including Miss Lisa, had other work to take care of during their stay in China.”

The work between the two parties did not have a lot of overlapping – NTN, being the party that was supposed to provide with the technical product, its responsibilities focused mainly on the quality and the quality control of the technology and product.

As for Qiao Luo’s side, as the entrusted party and middle-person, they would need to coordinate the transportation and inspection of the equipment along with other processes and permits.

For the sake of appeasing NTN, Qiao Luo even took over some of the coordination on the China side.

“We did, however, receive a message from Mr. Qiao’s end this morning. They will be having a banquet tonight,” said Xu Fei.

It was, naturally, not going to be a banquet gearing toward partying and entertainment.

The purpose of the banquet was to get all related persons together and to coordinate and discuss certain matters.

That did not have much to do with NTN.

As such, Xu Fei was only mentioning it in passing.

Qiao Luo acted fast.

After the demonstration last time, Qiao Luo returned to the Southeast with the documentation and test products. He was able to get ahold of the official oceanic personnel Country U and Country O within two days and agreed for them to install test equipment along their seaboard.

“It was said that the result was very positive. They were able to catch a problematic cargo fleet as soon as the system was activated.” Xu Fei sounded somewhat excited.

Gu Shao smiled and did not opine when he heard that.

He had already heard about this from Qiao Luo before the message.

That wasn’t all that he knew, Gu Shao also knew that the fleet that was stopped by Country O’s government was none other than that belonging to Lin Yize.

It was no coincidence; Gu Shao had intended for that to happen.

Over on this side, the mood was very light.

That was not so much the case at president’s office at the Lin Corporation.

SLAP!

Lin Yize slapped the documents in his hand down onto the desk and looked at his two men with a darkened face.

“I asked you to go and smooth things out and this was the outcome that you are showing to me?!” Not only would their cargo be confiscated, but their boats would not be released without a penalty payment.

The man on the left lowered his head when he heard Lin Yize’s outburst. He said nervously, “This is the best outcome we were able to negotiate. Mainly that Country O have evidence of us smuggling and would not let that slide.”

Lin Yize’s eyes dimmed too when he heard that from his man.

He had been transporting illegal products between the southeast countries under the disguise of a legitimate transportation business. It had gone very well for him with very high profit margin. Lo and behind, those two countries had activated some sort of monitoring system along their seaboard, and they were able to see well into international sea. That had exposed all of their illegal activities.

Country O was able to get ahold of evidence of that, which allowed them to ask for an obscene amount of money.
