Chapter 252 – She called him again and still no answer. (3)

Gu Shao, on the other hand, went over to his study.

He received a call from Wang Wu after he had gone through some of his documents.

The first thing that Wang Wu told him was the situation at Qiao Luo’s banquet today. “Lin Yize was there.”

“In addition.” Wang Wu paused a little before carrying on, “Lin Yize ran into Mr. Qiao’s secretary at the banquet and recognized her.”

When they looked into the incident from 15 years ago, they also looked into Lin Yize and Song Kexin’s past. Naturally, they did not miss the relationship between Lin Yize and Meng Zixin.

Gu Shao wasn’t surprised by what Wang Wu had told him. He acknowledged nonchalantly and asked, “Anything else?”

“Lin Yize lost control of himself for a little bit when he saw Meng Zixin but he was quickly quelled by Meng Zixin and other of Mr. Qiao’s men on site and nothing too bad came out of it. Lin Yize and Meng Zixin left together after the event and went over to a club by the hotel……”

Wang Wu’s men was not able to find out too much about the conversation that took place between the two at the club. As such, Wang Wu was only able to give a high level report.

“The tail end of the conversation seemed to be Lin Yize trying to recruit Meng Zixin to go work for him and he wished that the two of them can join force and stop the progress of the transportation monitoring system.”

Having said that, Wang Wu said worriedly, “This Meng Zixin isn’t looking too trustworthy. Do you think we should contact Mr. Qiao and have him switch her out?”

She had, after all, been in a relationship with Lin Yize in the past. The two hadn’t been in touch in the past few years and that Lin Yize was married but people were difficult to tell. Meng Zixin just might agree to work with Lin Yize for the sake of what they had in the past.

Qiao Luo relied a lot on this assistant and she handled a lot of the matters within China. If she was to join force with Lin Yize or leaned toward him, that would, doubtlessly, put Gu Shao in a very disadvantageous position.

What Wang Wu was saying made sense. Gu Shao, however, wasn’t that worried.

“Let’s give it some time,” said Gu Shao nonchalantly.

From what they could tell so far, Meng Zixin only left with Lin Yize so he wouldn’t make a scene at the banquet and the fact that the two left together openly also stated her position.

“Then later on……” asked Wang Wu again.

“We will see how she chooses.”

If she was someone that Qiao Luo trust, then she must have a certain professional ethics.

Besides, from Gu Shao’s perspective, Lisa was no fool. Having her career and memory of puppy love on two ends of a scale, it was a simple decision.

Nevertheless, recalling how Gu Xi had stressed for him to watch out for Lin Yize, he added, “Watch him closely.”

“Yes, Sir,” said Wang Wu over the phone.

Gu Shao might be nonchalant over the fact of Lin Yize and Meng Zixin running into each other.

Over at the Lin’s, however, Song Kexin could not sit still after she learned that Lin Yize had attended a certain banquet and left with a woman just the two of them before the banquet was over.

“How could he! What kind of a woman could make him do that……” Sitting on the couch, Song Kexin was looking very displeased.

Zhang Cui, seeing her daughter in that state, quickly chimed in to comfort her, “Perhaps they needed to talk business.”

Zhang Cui words did not comfort Song Kexin at all. In fact, it riled Song Kexin up more. “Talk business? What kind of business would take so long to talk about? And just the two of them no less. They didn’t even allow any of the bodyguards to follow them in!”

What bothered Song Kexin the most was the fact that Lin Yize didn’t even answer her call. She had called him up at least 30+ times since she had found out about this and had texted him and messaged him on WeChat. Nevertheless, he did not pick up the phone nor did he respond to her texts.

What would he do that if he was just talking business?

Song Kexin’s grip on her phone tightened once again and she couldn’t help but called him once again.

Still no answer.
