Xia Changyue had lost her patience with Jiang Mingna, who was blocking her way. She pulled her arm out of her grasp and walked away.

“Xia Changyue, you won’t be happy for too long. Young Master Chi will not let you off…”

Xia Changyue could still hear Jiang Mingna’s shouts, although she had walked some distance away.

She waited for a taxi on the sidewalk with a worried look on her face.

The time was 8:15pm.

She stepped out of her room and looked at the empty corridor. She suddenly thought of the cold decor in the master bedroom.

She sighed softly, almost unnoticeably.

Why did she feel like a kept woman who was waiting for her master to come back?

Xia Changyue bit her lips while feeling a little heavy-hearted.

Looking at the night sky full of stars, she couldn’t sleep no matter how she snuggled in her blanket.

A black limousine had parked there quietly for over an hour.

“Young Master Chi, Miss Xia moved early this morning. She was set up in the guest room, as you instructed. The butler reported that Miss Xia left the villa shortly after she put down the luggage. She only came back at 8 o’clock in the evening.”

The Assistant turned his head respectfully to look at the man pretending to sleep at the backseat.

His well-built body leaned back with a hand supporting his head. His seductive face was slightly tilted and looked perfectly smooth in the dim light.

He opened his eyes slightly when he heard the Assistant.

His eyes were bright and without any signs of sleepiness.

He asked with a cold voice, “Where did she go?”

“The First Hospital,” the Assistant reported the information that they had gathered. “Miss Xia’s parents had a traffic accident four years ago. Both of them became vegetables. The culprit escaped the scene. Xia family lost their main support, and the company declared bankruptcy shortly. Even the family’s fortune was divided up by the relatives.”

Four years ago.

A coldness flashed through Yan Chengchi’s eyes.
