Chapter 42: Who Was She Talking On The Phone With?

The kid-size soft toy she was hugging made her look slightly childish.

However, Xia Changyue forced herself to say that she liked beetles when Yan Chengchi began to scrutinize her.

“You have quite a unique taste in liking soft toys at your age, Xia Changyue.” Yan Chengchi spoke weirdly after a while. He walked over, took the soft toy from her, and started to size it up.

It was a beetle again…

This was too much of a coincidence.

He met a kid who wore a beetle children’s face mask at the villa’s gates. The kid had also burst his car tire.

He was now seeing a soft beetle toy in his villa too. Even his woman was won over by beetles. Was he going to be inundated by beetles now???

Yan Chengchi’s eyes narrowed and said coldly, “Dump it.”

“What?” Xia Changyue stared at him in a shock and then looked at the soft toy in her hands.

Although it was a little childish for her to be playing with soft toys at her age, the soft toy didn’t offend him in any way. How could he make her throw it away?

Furthermore, it was given to her by her precious son as her sleeping bolster.

Not throwing it!

Xia Changyue snatched the soft toy away from him and hugged it tightly in her arms. She said, “I will only hold it when I am sleeping and keep it in the cupboard during the day. You will not see it again.”

“You have me to hold while you are sleeping. There’s no need for a soft toy.” Yan Chengchi snapped.

“I like to hold a soft toy,” Xia Changyue insisted.

Yan Changchi immediately pulled a long face and hissed, “You mean I am not even comparable to a soft toy?”

“Look how cute this beetle is, Yan Chengchi.” Xia Changyue lifted the soft toy with one of its feelers and dangled it in front of him. She was trying her best to convince him.

“Are you trying to tell me I am not even comparable to a bug? You are looking for death, Xia Changyue!” Yan Chengchi was utterly annoyed.

Xia Changyue was speechless.

She only just wanted to keep a soft toy…

“I’ll throw it.”

Xia Changyue looked at the soft toy in her hands, then looked at Yan Chengchi, who was incensed. She then spoke those words unwillingly.

Never mind, she would not antagonize him any further. After all, she would be at the losing end.

She carried the soft toy and walked out of the room disappointedly.

The rubbish bin in the room was too small. The woman had to walk to the big rubbish bin in the garden to throw the toy away.

Xia Changyue scolded Yan Chengchi in her heart for a couple of hundred times as she walked down the stairs.

Bossy!

Petty!

And narrow-minded!

It was just a soft toy that took up a little space on his bed.

Didn’t he come into her room and occupied her bed daily too? He couldn’t even tolerate a soft little toy.

She finally made her way into the garden. Her mobile phone rang suddenly just as she braced herself and prepared to throw away the toy.

She lowered her head to see the Caller ID on the screen. She was startled.

She jerked her head up and looked around. She hid behind the rubbish bin to pick up the call after she was sure there was nobody around.

“What is it, Big Brother Han?”

“King Hanhan misses you. Do you miss me, Little Yueyue?” The little guy’s childish voice said at the other end of the call. He sounded just like a little bossy imp.

“Of course. Little Yueyue always has you in my mind.” Xia Changyue squatted down and pacified him gently. She knew he felt insecure again.

She hung up the phone when she finally subdued the little guy. She then suddenly recalled that she came here to dump the soft toy.

She was about to stand up with the soft toy when she noticed a shadow in front of her.

She saw a pair of polished leather shoes at the next second.
