Chapter 16: Learning The Piano

“In this situation, why don’t you consider how to counterattack and carry out the next step? Consider it today’s homework. We’ll discuss it in class tomorrow.” He said to Huo Yuan.

Huo Yuan nodded. “Okay.”

Chi Nan tried his best to relax and said, “Then study it first. I’ll go out and take a breather.”

Huo Yuan said without looking up, “Goodbye, Teacher.”

Chi Nan followed the sound of the piano. The piano room was at the innermost side of the first floor. Madam Lin Lang was wearing a light blue dress in front of a white grand piano. She was dignified and elegant, making Chi Nan, a veteran in love, sigh in admiration.

At the end of the song, Lin Lang slowly lowered his hand.

Clap, clap, clap. Chi Nan clapped and slowly walked in. His footsteps were steady as he tried his best to walk out of the most gentlemanly mood.

“Teacher Chi?” Lin Lang looked back at him in confusion.

Chi Nan stood in front of the zither and said excitedly, “I really didn’t expect to hear such beautiful and moving music in my lifetime. Madam Huo, I didn’t expect you to play the piano so well.”

Lin Lang was a little embarrassed. “Teacher Chi, can you play the piano too?”

Chi Nan sighed softly. “I’ve always been interested in the piano. It’s a pity that I never had the chance to learn it.”

His eyes suddenly lit up. “I wonder if Madam Huo is willing to take in a disciple?”

Lin Lang had a good impression of this refined and handsome young man. She immediately asked him to sit down beside her and began to explain to him.

Ning Wan took in everything from the opposite window. She raised her hand and looked at her watch. It was just in time. She turned around and went to the kitchen.

Huo Ce’s eyes flickered. He did not stop and walked straight to the piano room.

Chi Nan played the tune again. Lin Lang, who was sitting on the other side of the piano stool, applauded and cheered. “Little Chi is indeed a PhD. You learn things so quickly. I can’t teach my two sons no matter what. You’re really amazing!”

Chi Nan looked up at Lin Lang and said gently, “It’s clearly because Madam taught me well. I’ve studied for so many years, but I’ve never met a teacher as patient as Madam. You actually don’t despise me, a slow-witted student, at all.”

Huo Ce saw the love in Chi Nan’s eyes clearly and his face darkened.

However, Lin Lang could not receive Chi Nan’s signal at all. She smiled and said, “I’ve never been a teacher. I don’t even teach my own sons. They’ve been smart and capable since they were young. They never needed me to teach them anything. To be honest, I have no dignity at all as a mother.”

After saying that, she smiled happily.

Chi Nan continued to say affectionately, “Madam, you’re too humble. A person like you has really suffered in this big residence. I can hear the sorrow in your heart just by listening to your tune. Madam, the most important thing in a person’s life is to have fun and not leave any regrets for yourself, don’t you think so? Lin Lang smiled and patted his shoulder. “Young man, you’re really good with words. I would probably be mesmerized by you if I were 20 years younger!”
