Chapter 21: What’s the Matter?

“Brother was busy, so he left after having lunch with me…”

Huaili pursed his lips, upset, but soon his smile brightened again. “But then sister came, and I was very happy.”

“When will your brother come back?” Yunsha asked.

Huaili’s gaze was a little strange, and he said with a conflicted expression, “You’re so concerned about my brother… do you like him?”

Yunsha sputtered, her forehead full of wrinkles. She quickly shook her head and denied, “No.”

“Sister, you don’t have to be embarrassed.” Huaili’s face was full of seriousness. He looked at her without blinking and said, “My brother is very popular. There are many people who like him, but I will feel nervous in front of him. I may not be able to help you with him…”

Speaking up to this point, Huaili suddenly clenched his little fists and said with high fighting spirit, “But if you like him, I will definitely do my best to help!”

“No, there’s really no need!” Yunsha hurriedly explained, “I didn’t ask about his whereabouts because I like him. It’s because I’m going to be discharged from the hospital soon and can’t continue to accompany you. I’m afraid that I’ll leave you here alone, so I’d like to know that you have someone.”

“Aren’t you supposed to leave later?” Huaili tilted his head. He remembered that the nurse had not allowed her to be discharged at that time.

“Yes… but my brother is here and wants to take me home.”

When Huaili heard that, his eyes were filled with envy.

He, too, could actually leave, but his brother would not take him home. After he was one signing the discharge forms, Ci Yanfeng could not find Yunsha in the ward. He felt strange and walked along the corridor, looking for her. Then, he saw Yunsha carrying a child in someone else’s ward.

“Sha Sha…” Si Yanfeng walked in.

“Brother, this is the child I saved that day, Fang Huaili,” Yun Sha introduced the kid.

Ci Yanfeng simply nodded. He was not interested in children.

Fang Huaili hugged Yunsha’s neck and smiled shyly. However, he did not speak to Ci Yanfeng, nor did he call him brother.

Ci Yanfeng said, “Let’s go.”

Yunsha looked at the little guy apologetically. Just as she was about to put him down, he hugged her neck tightly and begged, “Can I stay at sister’s house for a night?”

“No!” Before Yunsha could even say anything, Ci Yanfeng retorted first.

Fang Huaili’s eyes immediately became watery and he looked extremely pitiful.

Yunsha was caught in the middle and felt a little awkward. She asked, “Is your brother not coming to accompany you tonight?”

“No, I’m still sleeping in the hospital at night…”

Although there were two other patients in the ward, they only came for treatment every day and left. They did not sleep here at night.

There seemed to be two invisible ears hanging down on Huaili’s head, like a puppy. He said dejectedly, “Then I’ll just stay here… goodbye, sister…”

Yunsha looked at Ci Yanfeng and wanted to say something but stopped herself.

Huaili also looked at him with a sorrowful expression.

Ci Yanfeng was hit with a sense of guilt.

After a moment of silence, he said to the little guy,”… If you want to follow us, your family won’t be able to find you when they come back.”

Huaili said, “I can call them. They are all very busy. They won’t care where I went.”

The second half of his sentence sounded so pitiful. It indirectly showed that he was not valued by his loved ones.

“Since my sister likes you, I’ll bring you along.” Ci Yanfeng said coldly, “But you have to sleep at my place tonight. You can’t share a room with my sister.”

Huaili hesitated for a moment before nodding. “Okay.”

Huaili used Yunsha’s cell phone to make a call and turned on the speakerphone. After the call was picked up, a clear and indifferent voice was heard. “Hello.”

Yunsha recognized that it was the voice of a thousand miles away.

Fang Huaili called out, “Brother.”

The tone on the other end of the phone was so calm that it was as if he was talking to a stranger instead of his own family.. “What’s the matter?”
