Chapter 25: I Like Children

Huaili fell into self-doubt and leaned closer to Yunsha, seeking shelter. Yunsha could feel his uneasiness and patted his little head in a soothing manner, then she held his hand.

Huaili was satisfied and smiled very sweetly.

Sure enough, his sister was definitely the best!

Ci Yanfeng looked at the place where the two’s hands were clasped, his gaze sharp and cold as he glanced at Huaili.

His gaze was as sharp as a knife, and his gloomy expression was enough to scare a child and reduce the child to tears.

When Huaili raised his head to look at Yunsha, he caught a glimpse of Ci Yanfeng’s expression from the corner of his eye, but he pretended not to see it. He continued walking beside Yunsha happily, feeling a little smug in his heart.

There were three floors in the Ci family villa.

The first floor was used for eating and entertaining guests. The housekeeper and servants also lived on this floor.

The second floor was where Ci Yanqing and his wife, as well as Ci Yanfeng and Yunsha’s rooms.

There were actually some spare rooms on this floor, but they had been transformed into a study and a piano room.

The remaining three sons were the most troublesome. They were either too noisy or rebellious and stubborn. Ci Yanqing and his wife felt out of sight and out of mind with these three sons, so they let them live on the third floor, separate from everyone else.

“There happens to be a children’s room on the first floor. There are a lot of toys piled up inside.” The housekeeper followed behind Yunsha and said, “Miss, I’ll get a few servants to take this child to play.”

Miss had gone out for so long, and now she had brought back a child to look after along with her? This was too hard.

Moreover, in the butler’s mind, Miss was also a child herself.

“Sister…” Huaili held Yunsha’s hand tightly. His little hand was soft, and it did not hurt her at all when he held it tightly.

He looked at the butler timidly, as if the butler was a huge flood or a fierce beast.

Then, Huaili raised his head, his eyes full of dependence and pleading, looking at Ci Yunsha.

The butler was speechless. He did not know if he was seeing things, but the series of changes in this kid’s expression just now was too perfect. It was so perfect that it seemed like he wore a fake mask, and no one could see his true appearance under the mask.

But how could such a young child have such outstanding talent in acting?

The butler suspected that he was overthinking things.

“Huaili is afraid of strangers. Let me play with him,” Yunsha said.

Perhaps it was because she had saved him that Yunsha started to have good luck, or perhaps it was because he was soft and obedient, which made Yunsha very tolerant of him.

“Yes, miss.” The butler was helpless. He could give advice to Yunsha, but he ultimately could not interfere with Yunsha’s decision.

However, the butler’s defeat did not mean that he had no other choice.

“Sha Sha,”Ci Yanfeng faced Yunsha’s gaze and simply sputtered out nonsense without changing his expression, “I like children very much. Let me play with him.”

The smile on Huaili’s face gradually froze.

Ci Yanfeng said again, “I even hugged him before. He didn’t reject me, right?”

As he spoke, Ci Yanfeng squatted down, his gaze now level with Huaili’s.

The distance between the two was very close.

Ci Yanfeng could clearly see the displeasure in the child’s eyes, but for some reason, he kept quiet and could only endure this displeasure.

Just as Ci Yanfeng had said, Huaili had allowed himself to be carried by Ci Yanfeng for a period of time. It was too late to say that he hated Ci Yanfeng.

Therefore, Huaili could only purse his lips against his heart, his eyes flashing. He smiled faintly and nodded his head, tacitly agreeing with Ci Yanfeng’s words.

Ci Yanfeng and Fang Huaili each wore a “sincere” smile on their faces, trying their best to show their good sides in front of Yunsha.

Looking at the respectful scene of the brothers in front of her, Yunsha was very gratified. She said, “Then I’ll have to trouble big brother to take care of Huaili. I’ll go back to my room first.”

Ci Yanfeng smiled. “Okay, leave it to me.”

Huaili’s little baby voice called out immediately after. “Sister, please come down earlier….”
