After circling all around the house looking over everything without being invited to, Xia Feng returned to the living room and lay down on the sofa, again without being asked. He said enviously, “How nice that your parents aren’t home. You can do whatever you want to do. Ah, Cheng Zhiyan, can we watch some TV?”

“You can watch if you want.” Cheng Zhiyan stood in the kitchen, cutting up some fruit. “The remote control is on the tea table.”

“All right. If you don’t mind, I think I’ll do as I please.” Xia Feng reached out and grabbed the remote control from the tea table, turned on the TV, and randomly picked a channel to watch.

Xiaotu flung her book bag on the ground. She rushed over to the sofa on her short little legs and used all her strength to climb up on the sofa. She plopped herself down next to Xia Feng and started watching TV with him.

It just so happened that Xia Feng had turned on a melodramatic soap opera.

“I’m so sorry…” The male lead inhaled another cloud of smoke deeply, then threw away his cigar. At that point, he turned around and embraced the beautiful, tearful heroine, pressing her against the wall as he forcefully kissed her.

“They’re kissing. Ah, please stop watching…” Seeing that he couldn’t block Xiaotu’s view of the show, Xia Feng promptly picked up the remote control and turned off the TV.

“I’m not finished watching that show yet…” Xiaotu complained to Xia Feng unhappily when she saw the TV screen go black.

AHEM! AHEM! “Ah…the fruit’s ready. Let’s eat some fruit…” Xia Feng glanced at Xiaotu somewhat awkwardly. Then he noticed that Cheng Zhiyan was approaching, carrying a large plate full of fruit. He quickly changed the subject.

Xiaotu followed Xia Feng’s gaze and looked toward Cheng Zhiyan as well.She noticed that he was carrying a plate full of watermelon, her favorite.

“Yay! There’s watermelon to eat!” Upon seeing the watermelon, Xiaotu instantly forgot what she had just seen on the TV and cheerfully rushed toward Cheng Zhiyan.

Xia Feng wiped his forehead, which had started to sweat, and let out a heavy sigh of relief.

“Oh, by the way, Cheng Zhiyan, I have something for you,” Xia Feng said as he ate the watermelon, as if he had suddenly remembered something.
